CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Beginning today Amazon Studios will be streaming on Amazon Prime the movie “
herself” about the struggle of a young mother’s escape from an abusive relationship to make a better life for herself and her two young children. Shannon Hinson with Habitat Charlotte Region talked with Wilson about the importance of the movie’s subject and how Habitat Charlotte is connected to the production.
Amazon Studios has donated $100,000 to cities in the U.S. that are in need of affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region will be receiving one of the large donations. As in the film, 68% of their homeowners are single women with children that are in dire need of affordable housing.
