TILLER, Ore. — A wildfire that broke out near Tiller on Tuesday afternoon is now largely contained, with fire officials saying that growth was halted at 220 acres,
The Marshall's Place Fire was first reported on Tuesday afternoon about four miles north of Tiller.
The Douglas Forest Protective Association said that firefighters have continued to make good progress on the fire, raising containment to 80 percent. It has not grown since early Wednesday morning, when crews finished lining the perimeter.
