The Columbus Community wrestling team traveled to Van Buren on Thursday for a triangular meet and split a pair of duals.
The Wildcats fell to Mediapolis 36-30, but defeated Van Buren 34-24. Against the Bulldogs, the Wildcats went 1-3 in contested matches with Ty Scorpil pinning his opponent in 1:57 at 113 lbs. The Wildcats went 3-2 in matches against the Warriors with Lane Scorpil having a fall in 2:48 at 120 lbs, Gerardo Orozco with a 10-1 major decision at 160 lbs, and Chance Malone with a pin in 1:38 at 285 lbs.
Columbus gets back on the mat today for a tournament at Anamosa.
