Why some township roads cost suburban taxpayers $100,000 per mile

Among 50 suburban townships, taxpayers are charged an average of less than $47,000 per mile annually in property taxes. However, that rate can be as high as $100,000 per mile in some places and less than $6,000 a mile elsewhere.
