Why a Red Line train with passengers on board headed towards a track fire

WMATA and the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission, the independent oversight safety agency for Metrorail, are investigating both a track fire on the Red Line that occurred Saturday (July 30) as well as the Metro’s response to it.
