The World Health Organization said Thursday that most African countries would have COVID-19 vaccination programmes underway by the end of March.

Dr Matshidiso Moeti, Regional Director of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa, also said almost 10 million doses of vaccine had been delivered to 11 African countries by Thursday.
More African countries received the long-awaited first deliveries of the jabs on Wednesday, with Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal and Lesotho benefiting from the global COVAX initiative that aims to ensure doses for the world’s low-and middle-income nations.
