During a congressional hearing that involved a heated exchange between Republican Rep Jim Jordan and Dr Anthony Fauci, Waters intervened by asking Jordan to "shut your mouth".

Who is Maxine Waters?
Waters, 82, is currently serving as the US Representative for California's 43rd congressional district, a position she's held since 1991.
A member of the Democratic Party, Waters is currently in her 15th term in the House of Representatives.
She is the most senior of the twelve black women currently serving in Congress, and she chaired the Congressional Black Caucus from 1997 to 1999.
