Who is Bill Whitaker?
Whitaker, 69, is an American television journalist best known as a correspondent for his work on the CBS News program 60 Minutes.
The 69-year-old's broadcast journalism career began in 1979 at KQED station in San Francisco, California.
In 1982, Whitaker became a correspondent for WBTC in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 1984, Whitaker joined CBS News while working as a reported in Atlanta.

He was CBS News' Tokyo correspondent from 1989 to 1992.
In March 2014, Whitaker was made a correspondent for the CBS news program 60 Minutes, for which he began reporting in the fall season.
