Is there a team out there who could trade out key players and load up on top draft picks in a similar vein to Essendon last year?
The Bombers ended up with three top 10 draft picks, trading out Adam Saad for pick eight and receiving pick seven as free agency compensation for Joe Daniher. They also traded Orazio Fantasia for pick 29 – which they used in the Jye Caldwell deal.
In doing so, they gave up talented players but were able to refresh their list with promising youngsters in Archie Perkins and Zach Reid.
