WhatsApp will not terminate user accounts after May 15, the deadline for accepting their new privacy policy, the Press Trust of India first reported. In a statement provided to media outlets including PTI, The Next Web and XDA Developers, also included below, the Facebook-owned messaging giant said that it will remind people over the next “several weeks” to agree to the new terms if they have not done so by May 15, which is hardly a week away. WhatsApp reportedly said that a “majority” of users had already accepted the new terms and conditions, which gives Facebook more leeway to leverage user data from other Facebook apps.
