Fans are joyful that 135,000 people can once again attend the Indianapolis 500. But much of the traditional entertainment around the race hasn't returned to its pre-pandemic form.
Some events are postponed or made invite-only, some are canceled altogether and others have been recalibrated to meet race fans where they live. Here's a look at what's going on with the Indy 500 Festival Parade, Carb Day and Snake Pit concerts, Off the Grid and Rev.
500 Festival Parade
The "reverse parade" is exactly what it sounds like. Instead of the traditional gathering downtown for the AES 500 Festival Parade, all 33 starting drivers will cruise through Indianapolis neighborhoods May 29.
