What Is Africa’s Capacity to Make Its Own Vaccines?
Calls for vaccines made in Africa are ramping up. Here's what you should know.
Why Global Citizens Should Care
Securing and rolling out COVID-19 vaccines is essential to bringing the pandemic to an end. The United Nations’ Global Goal 3 calls for good health and well-being for all, and this can only be achieved if all countries have equitable access to vaccines. Join us and take action here to help fight COVID-19 for everyone, everywhere, here.
The majority of vaccines already received by Africa have been provided by the COVAX facility, which works to make sure vaccines reach low- and middle-income countries and is co-led by the World Health Organisation, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.
