Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has informed that it has agreed to suspend the ongoing indefinite bandh of Dansiripar sub-division following assurance from the deputy commissioner (DC) of Chumoukedima to resolve the issue pertaining to damage compensation payment. It came a day after the hoho stated that it would continue with its indefinite bandh until the government revokes its order to keep the payment of damage compensation to Kiyevi village on hold. An update issued by the media cell of WSH informed that it, along with Western Sumi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho and Core Committee had an informal meeting at Chumoukedima DC’s official residence on Wednesday to discuss the matter. “After thorough deliberation on the issue of payment of damage compensation to Kiyevi village, the talk came to a meeting point whereby on the appeal and assurance of the Deputy Commissioner to resolve the issue of the payment of damage compensation within seven days the WSH has agreed to suspend the ongoing indefinite bandh of Dansiripar sub-division,” read the press release.
