Transport and Public Works MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela said "no exceptions were made for motorists who displayed lawlessness and who disobeyed the basic safety principles while on our roads".
Over the past five days, provincial traffic services conducted 240 integrated road blocks, vehicle check points and speed control operations, in which 19 707 vehicles were stopped.
