The future of Lindbom Elementary School is still up in the air.
After a public hearing and a lot of deliberation, Brighton City Council remains divided about the final site plan for West Village of Brighton and referred it back to the planning commission for additional review.
The plan for 140 townhomes at 1010 State St. was first proposed to the planning commission a year and a half ago and given unanimous approval.
But last month, the planning commission changed course and recommended denial in a 6-2 vote, arguing the site plan didn't fit the city's master plan. Other issues commissioners pointed out were parking, building height and greenery.
