The West Coast Regional Council has refused to release information regarding its sale of shares in a Canterbury-based pesticide factory to protect the people involved from “trolling”.
It sold its controversial 49 per cent stake in Pest Control Research NZ (PCR) Ltd for a dollar in December to 51 per cent shareholder and PCR chief executive Matthew O’Brien, retaining ownership of the land and factory building that is tenanted by the pesticide company at Rolleston.
