Wellington Phoenix could be without Olympic representatives for FFA Cup game

Wellington Phoenix could be forced to field a severely depleted team for their FFA Cup round of 32 game against either Newcastle Jets or Western United due a potential clash with the Tokyo Olympics.
Newcastle and Western will meet in a playoff on the weekend of August 7-8 to determine who will face the Phoenix in the next round, but while the exact date of the fixture is yet to be finalised, coach Ufuk Talay said he was already planning for the club’s six Olympic Games representatives to be unavailable.
