This is the epitome of a heart-melting, happy-ending story.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Officers recently rescued a feral kitten from a dumpster on July 14. Safe to say, their methods were anything but traditional.
According to the release, animal control received a report that a kitten had its head stuck in the drainage hole of a dumpster in an alley in Weld County a few miles south of Platteville. Officers arrived and, unsurprisingly, the kitten wasn't too keen on her situation and the people around her.
This is where the not-so-traditional method comes into play. Officers used vegetable oil to rub around the kitten's head and ears to help get her out of the drainage hole. They were able to minimize potential harm and work her head back through the hole. The sheriff's report says that she "shot out of the drainage hole like a backwards cannon right into a strategically placed carrier".
