We want it to go away and look for the sun to return. Lets get to meteorologist krystal klei in the first alert center. When will the sun return sf. Were going to look at a better workweek forecast. Unfortunately, today, like the last three days, thats what weve got. First alert radar and satellite lit up in green indicating the rain that is falling. Were getting a break compared to where we were, say, a couple of hours ago when there was a bit more rain and it was heavier across the map. Area of heavy rain across Burlington County and pocket in Camden County. Youre about to get another good dousing to brown hills. But thats pretty much the only area of heavy rain right now. Thats not the only heavy rain. Theres more to come. Let me show you why. This warm front is pushing through currently. Its connected to a a warm front. Thats going to continue moving west to east. Its going to trigger more rain and pockets of heavy rain throughout the Morning Hours and even into the early afternoon hours before we quiet down. Take a look at temperatures. Good news is, it is only rain that were talking about. No worry of ice or snow. All of us are in the 40s and heading to the 50s later today. Just a light drizzle on main street. This parade is going on rain or shine. Take a look. A lot of the businesses getting in the spirit with fancy costumes in the storefront. Eagles Center Jason Kelce will don the infamous mummers costume from the eagles super bowl parade. Its on loan from the avalon string band. Its going to be marching alongside those guys. He learned to play the saxophone in high school. Hell be marching in the 13th position out of 16 bands. No word on whether hell make another famous speech. But organizers say he wants to experience what its like to strut. Hell actually be with the avalon string band playing the saxophone and im hoping having a great time. This is our fourth year. The rain swamping our area comes from a storm system costing lives in the midwest. Parts of kentucky and three other states are in states of emergency. Kentuckys governor says three people have died there due to the dangerous flooding. In fact, louisville had to close flood gates yesterday to protect the downtown area from the rising ohio river. At least one person is dead over in arkansas after a possible tornado touched down there last night. Authorities are blaming the high winds for damaging this motel. Storms that went through brought thunderstorms. There were even reports of large hail coming down in some spots. Today marks one week since flames gutted a Historic Building in old city fill dpil. Tomorro philadelphia. Theyre going to start tearing down the building. Theyre concerned it will collapse. Flames gutted the building at 239 chestnut street. A number of pets did die. Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire. Contractors are salvaging part of the facade for future constructi construction. A person was found dead right along the tracks. Somebody discovered the body between 7 00 and 8 00 last night near olney station. Authorities are investigating whether the person was struck by a septa train, a Freight Train or if the person died another way and was left there. Investigators in West Philadelphia will be looking for the cause of a fire at this home at 42nd street and parkside avenue. Flames raced through the house. It took crews just minutes to get them under control. Nobody here was hurt. We have new details on a story we told you about yesterday morning. Police tell us it was neighbors who stopped a driver after watching him smash his car into a line much parked cars in south philadelphia. Take a look at the damage to 15 cars on friday night. You can see smashed bumpers, shattered taillights and dangling side mirrors o. This all happened near 24th and south third street. Neighbors and an offduty Sheriffs Officer managed to stop the driver. Tom, when we hear the word hacker, we think of someone up to no good. This is such a thing as a good hacker versus a bad hacker, correct . Listen, absolutely. Facebook prides itself on having hackers employed at facebook. They are working on behalf of facebook to determine where are the weakest links within facebook, but also what are the hackers after . How can they shore up the defenses . Facebook is not alone. Every big company that has a robust Cyber Security force is doing the same thing. We went inside a hack with one of these good hackers to see not only how easily they got inside but also what are the hackers after. How easily can they identify it . And once they find that data, whether its personal information or financial information, whatever, how can they extract it and how can we all shore up our own defenses. It was really eyeopening. Che mung at 44. 42, that current reading in hopewell township. A lot of 40s across the region this morning. Then a lot of wet row ways as well because of the passing showers and pockets of heavy rain that we have seen moving across the region during the morning and overnight. Lets take a look. This is in Burlington County into Camden County and bleeding into parts of Gloucester County as well. Pockets of heavy rain. If we pull this out and put it into motion, there has been a break over south jersey, the shore and slicing up into the suburbs. Thats about to come to an end. The next round of rain is moving through. Chest er berks, Lehigh Valley. I dont see as much of the yellow indicating the possible et cetera of heavier stuff falling. That doesnt mean it cant develop again. Heavy rain is possible. This is going to continue. Look at how long the stretch is out for. This is the cold front thats pushing in more of these heavier and steadier showers. So in the hourbyhour model, this model is going too heavy, obviously. It does a good job of timing. Through 10 00 a. M. This morning, well keep with constant rain. In the northwest neighborhood, along the i95 corridor, pocketed heavy rain possible. By around noon, i think the rain will mostly pull out of philly, which is good news for you going to manayunk to see the mummers this afternoon. Between noon and 2 00. Most of the rain moves off. Lingering showers are popping up in the afternoon. Cant be ruled out. That would be light, shortlived in nature. Here are the highs for today. A temperature of 56 in philly and 55 in the Lehigh Valley. Delaware with a high of 57 degrees. Take a look. Yesterday we didnt see a ton of rainfall. A few hundredths in philadelphia. Almost no measurement farther south. A tenth in allentown. Lets compare this to today. Check that out. Were talking around half an inch in areas north and west. And about a third of an inch in philadelphia. More to come. When all is said and done. A half an inch to an inch for the full totals. Not enough to cause flood issues. Definitely a good bit of rain. Nunez who chairs the Intelligence Committee repeated his allegation that the fbi abused a secret surveillance process to spy on Trump Campaign adviser carter page. The democratic memo details allegations that russia actually tried to recruit page as a spy. Page called the memo, quote, misinformation and a smear campaign. Democrats had a similar reaction to a gop memo on the very same issue. What were looking at is what we expected to see. Yesterday we talked about it. Overnight saturday into sunday morning is when we would see the steadiest, sometimes heavy rain. Thats what weve gotten. We have a few pockets of heavier rain across burlington, Camden County. You see steadier rain out farther to the west moving our way. Lets tighten up on the pockets of heavy rain. Theyre staying in one spot. No flood concerns, watches or warnings in place. You will get ponding on the roadways or in your front yard. The grass is likely saturated. In chesterfield getting a good hit right now. This is going to continue to move to the east, hopping into ocean county in the next half hour or so. Look at this wide picture. Weve got steady rain entering along chester county, berks county. If you look farther, we have a lot of rain left. Were going to track rain throughout the Morning Hours. In the afternoon, though, things start getting a little better. Well talk more about the timing of when everything exits coming upment. As students prepare to head back to class this week, were learning new details about the officers who responded to that High School Shooting in parkland, florida, but did not go inside the school to help. Nbc news has learned three sheriffs deputies did not enter that building. Its still not clear why, though. The Sheriffs Office did not respond to nbcs request for comment. A School Resource officer armed with a gun waited outside the school for four minutes as that shooting happened. He actually quit the department after it launched an investigation into why he did not go inside. 17 people died in that massacre. The alleged gunman is now charged with their murders. While the National Rifle association is rejecting the idea of stricter gun laws to help prevent future School Shootings, more companies are taking a stance against the gun rights organization. United and Delta Airlines plan to end deals with the nra that offer doss counts for group travel. Those join a dozen Major Companies cutting ties with the nra, including car rental companies, hotels. Theres also a call on social media for boycotting the Gun Rights Group altogether. The nra says the loss of a discount will not scare or distract any member from its mission. In philadelphia, public worker unions are on move and marching this weekend just ahead of a case in the u. S. Supreme court. That could actually change their futures. Hundreds of workers rallied during a day of action in center city yesterday. They are concerned about the so call janice case, a challenge to the state level requirement that Public Workers must pay dues to unions that bargain on their behalf. Union members tell us theyre hoping the high court sides with organized labor so it can maintain fair wages and strong contract negotiations. The janice case is nothing but a naked attempt by rich ceos to use the highest court in the land to cut down our unions. Many conservatives argue that forcing Public Workers to join and pay unions is a violation of their First Amendment rights. 7 35 right now on this sunday. The good news is, as we get into the afternoon, things start to dry out. The rain moves out and we are going to see conditions that are considerably better than they currently are. A mild start to the workweek, where finally sunshine will return. For today, cloudy conditions. Look at the timing here. 9 00 a. M. , still looking at rain. By 1 00 in the afternoon, cloudy. I dont think theres going to be much rain left in philadelphia. That temperature makes its way into the 50s. In the suburbs, low to mid50s for high temperatures. You see that 48degree mark. Again, cloudy by 1 00 in the afternoon. No longer dealing with rain. The rain will taper off around 11 00 a. M. To noon in the Lehigh Valley. Upper 40s, low 50s for highs. Delaware, everything exits around noon. We could see rain later in the southern half of the state. For new jersey through 1 00 p. M. , still some shower activity. Same deal at the jersey shore. Temperaturewise, the good news, we have no worries of anything other than rain. Its just rain in the forecast because were all well above freezing. Sinking spring at 42. Reading at 42. White hall 41. Bethlehem, same deal, 41 degrees. 39 degrees in walnut port. Just rain in the forecast. Same in the philly neighborhoods. Were at 44 at the airport. 42 in elkins park and 44 society hill. These mid40s will climb to the 50s for forecast highs today, especially because in the afternoon the rain quiets down. The temperature can pick up a little bit as a warm front will have passed the area. Look at radar and satellite. This is a tight view overfill fill. What we see is theres a little break kind of in central parts of the county. Some light rain and steadier rain extending into the you been sus suburbs. You have students leading the charge and vowing to make change and now at least a Dozen Companies have cut ties with the nra in the wake of that parkland shooting. Do you think this will put any pressure on congress to pass meaningful gun reform legislation . I think its going to put presh ir on congress to at least take up the debate. I still think the current makeup of congress, i am skeptical that yoincrental reform get through. But well see. In this calendar year. But the fact is the ground is shifting politically. The fact that the nra boycott was so effective with so many corporations running from the nra, not just walking away from them, i think reflection of how poorly theyve handled the aftermath of this shooting shootings in the last five months, the worst ever at a church in texas, the worst in las vegas and the worst at a high school obviously down in parkland, i think if theyve appeared to show a lack of empathy and a lack of interest in trying to trying to come up with Realistic Solutions and that is, i think, made it easier for more republicans to propose ideas that the nra opposes. The fact that you have that, a governor of florida who was an aplus nra guy going against the nra, the president of the United States willing to fight them on the age limit issue, i think, shows that there are limits to the nras influence. Some more felony charges involving prominent members of the Trump Campaign and transition team, Paul Manafort, rick gates. Talk about the cooperation from rick gate. The plea deal. What does this mean . Rosemary, rick gates, when Paul Manafort was fired in august, basically over the fact that he was becoming too controversial because of his ties to russian campaigns in ukraine, rick gates stayed and rick gates was a part of the transition. Rick gates was in a lot of meetings that Current White House officials were also in during that transition. So the cooperation of someone you could make the case now that mueller has secured the cooperation of mike flynn and rick gates. Those are two people that were highly influential during the transition and perhaps can know things that the president may have known or others around him may have known. That is what i think makes why the president is acting so nervous about this. He went a tweet storm last night. He had a call in to fox news to rebut the democratic memo on how the investigation is being conducted. I think the totality of where this investigation is going has this white house very nervous.
