We will see sunshine this afternoon, looks like the clouds will linger through the 8 00 hour. By 8 00, the fog will be easing in the area. Later this afternoon, get ready for the shorts and flipflops. Somebodys going to be wearing them. 72 degrees this afternoon in delaware. Into the low 70s in delaware, too. Ill break it down hour by hour when i come back in ten minutes but first, lets see how the fog is affecting traffic with Jessica Boyington, with your fs 23 first alert traffic. And upper moreland, east road, southbound side closed. Around mill road. Theyre diverting track on to mill road, that ramp to take you to easton road on the northbound side. So, that will be backed up for a little bit, especially later on in the morning commute. Heads up as you head out the door and take easton road, you might see problems there. Looks like that construction on the blue route, southbound ramp to the schuylkill expressway has already clearlied out of the way. Good news there. Drive times moving through delaware, not too bad, north and southbound, 11 minutes from 295 to 495 and average speeds in the 60s. Vai and tracy. Happening now, an old building is imminently dangerous and needs to come down. Nbc10s matt delucia is live on the scene right now. Matt, what are they doing to prevent people from a potential collapse . Matt, you can hear us . Reporter there is still that danger of collapse. Yes, i can hear you. Right here at third and chestnut streets, you can see this is the intersection where that fired happened early sunday morning. The heavy equipment has been moved in there. Theyre trying to keep this area as safe as possible from the event there is a collapse here for two days, firefighters and investigators have been at this spot. It has taken its toll on people who live here, worked here or booked hotel at the place next door. The city said 239 chestnut must come down. One of the residents is an artist and teacher who lost several cats in the fire and friends have started a fundraiser to help him out. Its like a storm of pain of regret. And sadness and all kinds of things that this has even happened. And why. And could it have been prevented. Reporter and i just checked, the fundraiser for that man is now over 30,000. But back here at third and chestnut, the city said the road closures around this spot will continue at least until this morning. L i told the Building Owner to first take down the fire escape because its weighing on the facade. But the goal is to save the facade if possible. There are two main priorities at this hour. One is to get this section of the building demolished in a safe way. And the second priority to figure out what started this fire in the first place. For now, though, the investigation continues. Yeah, you cant see the potholes in part because of the fog. Lets check in with bill henley and the most accurate forecast. True in allentown. This is one of the areas seeing thick fog right now. Thats a live view. The fog is going to be around for hours. Whether youre leaving the house right now or closer to 7 00, youre looking at fog, especially in those areas where the air temperature is colder. Warm air is surging in where it hits that chillier ground. Thats where its creating the fog in pottstown, reading, allentown. Not so much in delaware and south jersey. This is where the ground is warmer. The air temperatures are warmer as well. A lot of spots al let metown, quakertown, exton and reading some light fog possible in Atlantic City and wilmington and philadelphia, 51 degrees. With some fog in the philadelphia area at 8 00. But the next 12 hours, were going to see the clouds linger through the morning hours. So, the temperatures will make some progress. But well still be in the 50s at 10 00. But then, look at the sunshine breaks through. The temperatures take off. 70 degrees at least. I think theres a good chance well go above 70 degrees. 70 is the record for the state from 1939. So theres a good chance for at least to test that with a tie and possibly break it, too. Now, above the fog, theres no sign of any cloud curve. So once the fog thins out, well see lots of sunshine today for that quick warmup. Clouds with rain fall wont alive until later in the week. Youll see that with the sevenday forecast, at the bottom of the screen. One for each part of our area. Temperature trend, yeah, even warmer tomorrow. 72. Record temperatures again tomorrow. In fact, well be flirting with the alltime record high for philadelphia for february. For the entire month which is 79 degrees. Well get close to it tomorrow. Then, the temperatures come crashing down but still above normal for thursday. And back into the 50s, friday, saturday and sunday. But youre going to need your rain gear for those days. And diverting all traffic off of mill road and that will be on the easton side of the road there that youre turned around there. Right around the fog on the schuylkill expressway, that interchange there, you can see the fog as you look at the street lights there as well. Not too bad there. But the bridges are seeing fog as well. Now they have lane restrictions. 25 miles an hour for walt whitman. 35 for the rest of the bridges. The Delaware River bridges. Once the record temperatures take a break which slater in the week, rain is on the way. And that will take us into the weekend. Right now, its just thick fog. Its really thick in quakertown and coatesville. Holding at quartermile visibility which is considered dense fog. Anything quarter mile or less is considered dense fog. Or lancaster, reading, and half a mile in northeast philadelphia and a mile in trenton. You see the fog is changing constantly. Well be watching that right on through the morning. At 7 00, expect to see the fog and as the temperatures climb the fog disappears. With sunshine, upper 60s possibly the 70s in a few neighborhoods in the suburbs. That fog disappears in the late morning. Same story in the lehigh valley. Gray skies at 10 00 then afternoon sunshine. Fog will disappear. Light fog in delaware at 7 00. Close to 60 degrees at 7 00. And close to 70 degrees at 3 00. And climbing this afternoon. The coolest spot will be the jersey shore. That ocean water temperature is still chilly. So thats going to keep temperatures near 60 this afternoon. Above the fog, look at this, were pretty much cloudfree. The nearest clouds producing any rain well to the west. The snow, the cold air that is not going to get anywhere near it over the next ten days. The rain, though, that returns after tomorrow. The rain moves back in for thursday, friday and saturday. Youll see the chances for rain wednesday evening in reading. And then right on into the weekend. In fact, it looks like its going to be a pretty rainy weekend. Some showers on saturday.
