A neighbor tells us he woke up to the sound of explosions and rushed down the street to see whats happening. Nbcs Pamela Osborn is on her way to the scene. And developing now, concerns over an old city philadelphia neighborhood ravaged by fire that jessica just referenced. Right, dozens of people out of their homes and now officials are watching to see if the burned building might collapse. Matt, inspectors will be out today. Tell us more about that. Reporter thats right. The inspectors are going to be going in to make sure this building is safe for them to go in and get their belongings. Right now this is pretty much empty with the exception of firefighters at the scene watching over this building. And that is the building right there in the center that has broken windows and fire damage. Theres also a restaurant and hotel nearby. 160 were evacuated and still not being allowed back in because firefighters and inspectors dont know just yet if it is safe for them to reenter. We have been talking to the deputy fire commissioner last night who who said they really have to make sure its safe because it could collapse. Inspectors are going to go inside to see if it is safe. But as we take a live look here this is third and chestnut streets still shutdown. You can see a fire truck there with a crane still watching over this building to make sure if any hot spots flare back up, theyll be able to get a handle on it. It does look like this fire is out, but still a danger at this point for folks to go back inside. Were going to check in with local businesses to see if they do plan to open. The museum was closed yesterday because they were housing some of the evacuees. They said on twitter they expect to open at 10 00 this morning, but we will check to see. 5 04. New this morning the new Jersey Health department is still working to determine if the flu virus killed another child over the weekend. The Elizabeth School superintendant informed the school yesterday. This weekends death would mean three new jersey children have now died from the flu this season. A friend of the childs family tells nbc the little girl went to the doctor with flu symptoms this past thursday. She was feeling better on friday and then took a turn for the worse on saturday. She was vomiting and not drinking very much. She went to the doctor, christy, said in the morning around 9 30. And they were at stamford around 3 00 and i would say in the next eight hours and she did have the flu shot. Shed be the 78th death in connecticut. Doctors saw a thousand cases over the course of seven days. The flu has killed at least 11 delaware residents this season.
