Breaking news, a neighborhood is on lockdown after a gunman barricaded himself inside a home and fired shots at police and we just learned that all Public Schools in both the gloucester township are closed today because of it. Randy is live for us near the scene where this has been ongoing for ten hours now. Youve been telling us since 4 00 that stools might close and now it official. Translator the School District saying because of all this Police Activity they had to shut down lessons. The high school here, directly as cross the street from the neighborhood where this standoff is happening, we are staging here for safety concerns. This is also where police and ems have been gathering for almost ten hours now. Police got 911 calls of shots fired. Ems crews gathering with ambulances and the helicopter landing pad just as a precaution though at this point no injuries to report. The suspect began firing from a neighborhood about 8 00 p. M. At one point the suspect fired at Police Officers hitting an armored swat vehicle. They have not returned fire. They also will not kments on whether anybody else is inside that house. They do have the house surrounded, and theyre urging neighbors around the home near h hampshire road. One is unable to get back into his house with his wife and child are. He heard the first gunshots around 9 00 and she heard it until after 12 00. The information has been struck numerous times with officer es directly inside. So Police Released a map with the locations they need to shelter in place. This includes areas on hampshire road. Prospect court. Brook shire road. These are all neighborhoods with where they want people to stay indoors until they can come to a resolution. There are no injuries right now. They did have to evacuate about 18 people from some of the homes closest to where this barricade situation is happening and again, we had been hearing over the past few hours that they may cancel school. That has officially happened. All Public Schools here in gloucester downship closed for the rest of the day. We are also foe lowing breaking news in berlin. Take a look at the flames. Hear from the owner about what he calls an inthinkable loss. Today, family, friends and fellow firefighters will gather to say goodbye to a fallen philadelphia firefighter. A public viewing for lieutenant will happen this afternoon. Another viewing is scheduled for tomorrow morning followed by a funeral mass at 11 00. Part of the home collapsed. Fellow firefighters pulled him out. He died a short time later at temple hospital. A man who also lived in that fire could die in that fire. Later tomorrow afternoon in philadelphia, dover, redding and atlantic city, thats where well see a couple rounds of heavy rain. The first late friday afternoon and another round on saturday morning and with some of the ground still covered in ice and snow, the entire area is at risk for flooding. 4 00 friday afternoon into saturday morning, thats when periods of heavy rain will give us a flood threat. Run off from the frozen ground and also some ice clogged drains. Just want to keep you ahead of the system thats coming with first the rain and then the cold. We will warm into the 50s today and even warmer tomorrow, but tomorrow well be dealing with this. This is the wet weather thats going to come into play and the heaviest rain is due in the afternoon. Scattered showers overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning. Right now its dry. There are some thin clouds overhead. Well get some breaks of sunshine before the clouds take over completely. But that wet weather is on the move and well start the day damp with a heavier downpour starting to move in through the afternoon. Thats if first round that comes through. There will be some breaks of sunshine more likely this morning than the afternoon so well see a good warmup between 11 00 and were on track to reach into the low 50s this afternoon. The Lehigh Valley, new jersey at the shore, where its already melting, the temperatures already near 50 degrees at the shore and into the 50s for philadelphia, delaware and the Lehigh Valley too. A nice warmup during the day today. But there is some wet weather on the way and it starts moving in late tonight. It could lead to some problems later tomorrow. No opening right now over the bridges. Breaking news in Camden County where a neighborhood is on lockdown after a shooter p barricaded himself inside the home. Thousands of kids are affected. All Public Schools in the districts are closed today. Were live near the scene where the neighborhood has been crawling with police for more than ten hours. Give us the latest. Reporter well, that school close su closure includes the high school were standing at now. This is where police and ems crews are staging. Ill show you just how many resources are being put into this. A number of ems crews and a helicopter landing pad. Police say there are no injuries. Ill show you some video closer to the scene. Police got the 911 call. About 8 00 the suspect firing shots out of the home, at one point even firing at Police Officers, hitting an armored swat vehicle with police inside. They have not returned fire. They would not comment on whether anybody else was inside that house, but they do have the house surrounded and they say that suspect refuses to come out. Theyre urging neighbors in this area of Brittany Woods to stay inside their houses, shelter in place. We spoke with one man who was out of the house and now cant back in to his family. Yeah, she says shes we do have a son, hes ten. He doesnt know whats going on, so thats a good thing. It doesnt worry hm. I know shes worried. That is the area we are asking our community here to shelter in place and we will continue to provide updates to the dmunty through our social media platforms. Specifically police asking folks who live near hampshire road, parsons court, prospect court, evan shire road and block shire road, they want those people to stay at home. No injuries at this point. Police say they evacuated about 18 people from some of the houses that are closest to where this barricade is happening. A diner goes up in flames leefzing the Community Without their Gathering Spot and the owner without his livelihood. People are showing up to find their breakfast spot destroyed. Pam . Reporter it surely is a shock or will be a shock to customers as it was to the restaurants owner who rushed here overnight after learning that his beloved diner and his means of providing for his family was going up in flames. The man who owns the diner tells us he and his elderly parents who help him run the restaurant left last night around 10 00, just a couple hours later is when that fire started. Heavy black smoke could be seen from just miles away. The owner believes the fire broke out in the kitchen area, but that will be something fire officials will be working to determine throughout the day. The owner took over this restaurant before mothers day. He has about two dozen employees without a job. We spoke to the mother of one of the waitresses here who was hoping for the best. The owner tells i he isnt sure what hes going to do next. She loves coming to work every day and shes going to be really upset over this. Yeah, so hopefully, you know, a rebuild or something will happen. Hopefully shell get her job back. I dont know what to say here. Ill be hon nest. My mother is disabled, my father has heart problems and i was the only one i keep them on a daily basis. An unthinkable loss for him and his entire family as you heard here. All the roads around are open as well. Watching the boulevard, the southbound traffic right here, thats whats head bing toward t on the southbound side where we have a crash there and we also have a water main break.
