Today larry krasner, new District Attorney, is promising sweeping changes after his predecessor was sent to prison. Larry krasner ran on a campaign of making changes to the District Attorneys Office in philadelphia and how cases are prosecuted. He wants to reform the criminal Justice System here in this city. And in order to do that, there will need to be changes. Thats when he ran on. Changes like keeping fewer people behind bars. Hes also antideath penalty and wants to stop stop and frisk. Hes been support by the black lives matter movement. Those who elected him do want changes. His predecessor, seth williams, is serving time in a federal prison right now. Krasner told people changes are coming and what his goals are. How quickly the changes happen and what will happen is yet to be seen here. Its not just a big day for the District Attorneyelect, but also Rebecca Rinehart will be sworn in as the first female city controller in philadelphia.
