Emergency workers had to pry the 18yearold woman out of the wreckage. They took her to the hospital in stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously hurt. In cumberland county, a Millville Police officer is physically okay after a bullet ripped through his cruiser, narrowly missing him. Neighbors say it was one of several shots fired last night near the corner of 2nd and vine. Nbc 10 was there as the tow truck hauled away the damaged patrol car. The passenger side window appeared to be shattered. Police sent a chaplin to the scene to help comfort the officer. Investigators went door to door looking for information about that gunfire. Targeting officers, Authorities Say there is no doubt thats what a gunman was doing in harrisburg on friday before he died in a shootout with police. Homeland security says the shooter, Ahmed El Mofty was a naturalized u. S. Citizen. He came to america from egypt on a familybased immigrant visa. Police say he started shooting at local officers and followed state troops near a neighborhood where he was shot and killed. A friend who did not want to be identified said he was shocked to learn that el mofty was behind the gunfire. What possessed him to do that, again, i cant even answer that. That only, to me, just lets me know he lost it, he just lost it. Federal, state and local investigators still dont know why el mofty went on that shooting spree. A federal judge has lifted part of president trumps travel ban on certain refugees. The judge ruled yesterday the ban prevents refugees from 11 countries from reuniting with relatives already in the u. S. On friday, a federal Appeals Court ruled the latest version of the travel ban violates the law. But the Supreme Court decided the administration can enforce the ban while it is being challenged in court. The department of Homeland Security is looking at a plan to separate undocumented immigrant parents from their children while they are being detained. White house chief of staff john kelly rejected the idea when he hit at dhs, but the idea is backed following the recent surge in illegal migration along the u. S. mexico border. Backers of tougher enforcement say it is necessary and compassionate. Immigrant Rights Groups call it cruel and inhumane. Joining us to tell us more about that, Tony Award Winning producer and director Alexander Fraser and the playhouses education director michaela murphy, nationally renowned storyteller, actress and teacher. Welcome to you both. Thank you. Thrilled to be here. Lets start with you, audiences know the story of a Christmas Carol. How is this different and any surprises for audiences . We wanted to take this great story and do something a little different with it. So we set it in new hope. And it is absolutely the Christmas Carol that you know and love, but with a lot of local color thrown in and the whole thing ends with a Big Christmas show that ebenezer scrooge produces as his gift back to the community. And so they get to sing and dance, but it really is a Christmas Carol. And an extraordinary tale and i had forgotten a lot about it. But watching it and it has five actors. Five great actors from new york, Don Stevenson plays ebenezer scrooge, he was in the producers on broadway and had a great career. And hes terrific. Talk a little bit more about how it is customized to the new hope area. That is fascinating. It is set in new hope. It jumps around in time, but it is set in new hope, maybe in the early 18th century and it comes up to the present day. Of course, a lot of fun with the ghosts of christmas past, present and future and there is a lot of pennsylvania names and fun geographic references that are in the story. The playhouse is offering a unique holiday gift for those who may have dreams of stardom. Talk to us about that. It is a gift i would have loved when i was a kid, but not just for kids. It is for all ages. In the show, at the end, when ebenezer does the Big Christmas show, there is a finale and a show they do. The director of the the director of this production josh rhoads came in and worked with us last week on a workshop with our young company, where he did this choreography, and they learn this dance. The workshops were doing, we did one on saturday with a whole other group of people, and i think the oldest was in their 70s and youngest was 12, and they came and learned this choreography and they go to lunch and go to have a tour of the playhouse and own dressing room and costumes and then when ebenezer scrooge puts on this Christmas Show, they all come on and they sing and dance and it is fantastic. January 20th, leslie margarita, who is a fantastic broadway performer, who was our miss adelaide this summer in guys and dolls is coming back and dong a onenight concert, singing all the great broadway show stoppers. Your grandfather, just tell us about his story in 1921. My grandfather and his brother came over from sicily and started from nothing. They decided to open up the bakery, a family bakery, and they struggled. They expanded in 1938. They moved to this business here. And three generations later we have, you know, they built a family philadelphia institution. Reporter so many families come here on Christmas Eve to pick up desserts for dinner parties and churches tonight. What goes into these famous ricotta cheese cannolis . A whole lot of work. It is a handmade shell, we put a lot of time, a lot of effort into it. Made with ricotta cheese and chocolate chips. Handmade, lots of hands. New this morning, police are investigating a Home Invasion robbery in feltonville. It happened last night on west bristol street. Two men ambushed another man who just left his house. The bandits forced the victim back inside his home at gunpoint, then bound and gagged his girlfriend. The robbers took off with cell phones and cash. Police continue to search for four men who opened fire. Some of the bullets hitting this car in southwest philadelphia friday night. Witnesses told investigators the child and her father had just gotten out of their parked car. Thats when a vehicle with the men enside made a uturn and began shooting. The girl was hit in the legs. Shes now recovering. Her father was not hit. In bucks county, Police Believe a mercedes they recovered is linked to a deadly hit and run. Investigators found the car in a garage in levittown. They say the owner does not live in the area. Last tuesday, a car hit and killed Kevin Williams sr. As he was crossing route 13 in bristol on his bicycle. Witnesses say the car may have been racing another car when it struck the victim. In philadelphia, about a dozen Property Owners will be assessing damage from a water main break that flooded streets in Northern Liberties yesterday. Water gushed across part of girard avenue for hours, seeping into basements and damaging hot water heaters. Apartment tenants who lost their water, power and heat had to find somewhere else to go last night. Several businesses also decided to close. Water Department Crews spent the day fixing the broken pipe. Restoration crews are now trying to dry out those flooded basements. The top leadership of the Miss America Organization has resigned amid an email scandal that could yank the pageant out of Atlantic City. The organizations ceo, president and chairwoman, they all stepped down yesterday. The chairwoman says she was unjustly vilified and that shes confident the full truth will eventually emerge. The scandal broke when emails written by pageant officials were leaked to the huffington post. The emails criticized past miss americas for their appearance, intellect and even sex lives.
