Reporter they want the bike lanes to be safer for bicyclists so when they share the road with drivers they arent becoming victims of getting hit by cars. Friday morning, a bicyclist was at 13th and pine when she was hit by a truck. She has a broken leg, cracked ribs, and bruised lungs. She had surgery yesterday with another scheduled for tomorrow. Even a few weeks ago, near 11th and spruce, 24yearold Emily Fredericks died after being hit by a garbage truck while riding her bike. The city has restriped lanes and announced more safety measures, but it has riders and their families demanding more be done. Police dont know how or why, but one of them fell into the street. A car hit both women, killing one, sending the other to the hospital. The survivor is expected to be okay. Pennsylvania statements say they Pennsylvania State police say they have found the car responsible for a deadly hit and run in delaware county. The driver, however, remains on the loose. Police discovered the car in new castle county, delaware. Whoever was operating the car may have hit and killed ronald williams, also known as peabody, over the weekend. It is unclear why williams was parked on an exit outside of his car. Happening today, a pastor in Burlington County who faces child sex Assault Charges will go before a judge for a detention hearing. Harry thomas is accused of sexually attacking four children over the course of 16 years. During that time, he led medfords come alive church. He was just released from the hospital this month. Facing Sexual Misconduct allegations. Senator dalen leach says he will step back from the campaign for a congressional seat. He was a top candidate in a crowded primary to take on incumbent pat meehan. Leach is faces accusations of acting inappropriately toward female employees and campaign aides. Leach released this statement which reads in part, its heartbreaking to me that i have put someone in a position that made them feel uncomfortable or disrespected. The gopcontrolled Legislature Passed the measure, senate bill 3, as its called. Called for abortions to be limited to the first 20 weeks of pregnancy down from the current 24week limit. The democratic governor called the measure a vile assault on the right to choose. Make no mistake, s. B. 3 is an attack on women, their health, their freedoms, their choice, their liberties. Blood called the bill the nations most restrictive on abortion. State republicans called wolf a puppet of blood. It is unlikely the gop can override the governors veto. New jersey senator cory booker is getting support for his efforts to legalize marijuana across the country. Yesterday oregon senator ron wyden became the first to cosponsor the bill to end federal prohibition of marijuana. It would eliminate use and possession crimes and allow anyone serving time for those crimes to file petitions for resentencing. New jersey lawmakers want to protect the internet as you know it which means pushing back against the repeal of Net Neutrality rules. A new bill would mandate new jersey Internet Service providers allow customers access to any unlawful content on the web and mandates that access be nonprioritized.
