We are in cherry hill and i can tell you the main roads that were seeing, the highways which include 70 here, the stchuylkil over on the pennsylvania side, those are looking good. No real snow on the ground but they are a little bit slick. The side roads are becoming a bit of an issue. This is east miami avenue in cherry hill. Some spots have some ice as well and you can see the cars are covered in snow, so if you do park outside on the street youre going to be spending about five minutes this morning dusting off the snow. I was doing my car this morning. Its pretty light snow, real easy to swipe that off but it might take you a couple of minutes. Neighborhood and side streets are the bigger concerns though. On those highways, still wet, could be a bit icy. Take it slow on those highways. All right. Be careful out there. Montgomery county family that should be reveling in the joy of the Holiday Season is mourning today after a house fire claims the lives of two young boys. Firefighters raced to a fire at a home on summit avenue yesterday morning. The sheriff says the home is owned by deputy bryan lukens. They survived but their sons did not. Its the most horrible pain ive heard in my whole life. The nicest kids youve ever seen. A go fund me page has been set up to help the family. The cause of the fire is still unknown. A student is in the hospital this morning in Critical Condition after a car hit her on city avenue last night. She was crossing at the intersection and the driver of the car stayed on the scene. Police say they took him into custody for allegedly driving under the influence. For the second time in two weeks, a small earthquake has shaken the state of delaware. The 1. 2 quake happened around 12 45 yesterday morning just north of dover. Probably only a few people felt it. You may remember that bigger quake back in late november. Folks from washington to connecticut could feel that one. The 4. 1 magnitude quake was also centered near dover. It may have been the largest in delaware since 1871. The south street bridge is becoming more bike friendly. Yesterday officials in philadelphia announced a plan to start a bicycle lane and should be ready by this summer. Two weeks ago a woman on a bicycle died after she collided with a dump truck. The Cycling Community call for the city to take action and make bike lanes safer for riders. Im bill henley. As expected tracking some light snow showers this morning. The Lehigh Valley into the mountains and some of the suburbs seeing some very light snow. About an inch, inch and a half. Get another half inch out of this before it ends. Hour by hour forecast shows at 6 00 this morning still some light snow in allentown, reading, trenton and possibly a few flakes in philadelphia. Farther to the south its warmer. The atmosphere will produce a few rain drops but really scattered stuff but by 8 00 its pretty much done. A few snow flakes in the pocono mountains and we see more and more sunshine at 10 00. The sunshine will start the warming process and well see a good deal of warming this morning. Philadelphia with cloudy skies up to 34 degrees at 8 00 and 37 degrees by 10 00 and also on lunchtime. It doesnt look like its going to go much warmer than that because well get a wind out of the northwest, going to limit the warmup in spite of sunshine. Clouds for the suburbs to start with. Still some slippery spots at 8 00 this morning but we will get that sunshine and that wind will be a drawing wind so a lot of the snow is going to be melting and disappearing as we go into the late morning and afternoon hours in the suburbs. Lehigh valley, thats allentown, you can see the snow thats coming down right now. Its 23 degrees so it is sticking. Expect to see slippery spots, but at 8 00 just a few snow flakes. By 10 00 were looking at cloudy skies and it will warm right up to freezing or just a little bit above and a lot of that snow will melt even if the temperature peaks at freezing. A quick warmup here, the clouds will move out. You might see a few more snow flakes just before sunrise, but they quickly disappear as we go into the afternoon hours. The temperatures well above pleasing this afternoon. 40s for the shore and look at that sunshine. Noontime, 2 00 and 4 00, get a little chillier at 4 00. Delaware, cloudy skies right now t it will feel like its in the 20s. That breeze will be picking up at noontime but we will see lots of sunshine today. A vote today could change the way we use the internet. The fcc is set to review Net Neutrality rules. What is Net Neutrality . Reporter when you pay that internet bill, youre paying for a service. Access to the web whether youre browsing, gaming or streaming. The concept of Net Neutrality as we refer to it these days means the companies that give you internet access, that bring those wires into your home should treat all the content that comes across those wires equally. But the fcc is voting on a proposal to repeal the rules protecting that equal treatment. The heavy handed regulations were adopted two years ago, were trying to solve a problem that didnt exist. Reporter a problem that Net Neutrality supporters say could exist without regulation. The fear is that Internet Service providers could create fast lanes giving preferential treatment to certain content and may charge more for access. Its creating a backlash and a protest and a letter signed by 32 senators urging the fcc to reconsider the proposal. The fcc will still require transparency from Internet Service uju qq s but if consumers arent happy with the terms, they be stuck with them. About 40 of the country only has one option for Internet Service. I dont think its going to be the end of the world immediately but it opens the door to a lot of things we may not want to deal with. Reporter the repeal is expected to pass with a 32 vote along party lines. Gop leaders in the house and sna senate have reached an agreement on the tax code. If the plan is approved taxpayers could face plenty of changes next year. Experts say start preparing for those changes now. The first thing that you should do is kind of review your finances and talk to a professional to make sure that the changes that you may want to make are ones that are going to be best suited for you and your family. Experts also say if you live in a high tax state like new jersey you may want to prepay some of next years state and local taxes now. Those deductions could soon be capped at 10,000. Lets head over to delaware where there is a crackdown on shoplifters. Police tell us theyve bulked up their shop slilifting unit to g more officers in stores. Organized shoplifters often take the stuff they steal and sell it to smaller independent stores or they sell it online and that ends up costing everybody more money. Chester county is doing its part to help fight the wildfires in california. They picked up two new helicopters yesterday. The wildfire threat continues in california. Extreme fire danger warnings have been extended through tomorrow because of fears that high winds will fan those flames. The fires have destroyed hundreds of homes and forced many people to evacuate. 4 48 right now on this thursday and no snow at the moment, at least not here in center city, but late last night i was taking my dog out for one final walk and i was like oh, no, here it comes. There is snow on the ground and the treated roads like broad street are going to be fine, but you can see the Center Median there, strange, no ones parking at this moment, but Center Median does have a little snow on it. That will disappear during the day. We will see clearing skies. The snow ends first thing this morning. It gets a little bit breezy. The temperatures will stay in the 30s this afternoon. Then a dry evening and during the day, most of the snow thats on the ground will have melted. A cold way it at the bus stop. Most of the area is cloudy, but there will be lots of slippery walkways so be careful if youre walking to the bus this morning or driving too. Still getting some light snow in the suburbs into the upper suburbs of montgomery and bucks county, the Lehigh Valley and pocono mountains all seeing very light snow this morning. Theres already an inch or two on the ground in these neighborhoods. Getting another inch or less for this little bit of snow thats left in the area. And then well be clearing out. We will see a lot of sunshine today and behind the snow, the wind will be picking up. Its not going to be as strong or as cold as what we experienced yet. It will be a drying wind so its going to help to do away with whats on the ground. This is hour by hour, the snow potential if what is falling right now, close to an inch and just another dusting in potstown and trenton. Most of south jersey right now is seeing a milder start than it is to the areas north and west. And this afternoon 38 degrees. So a nice warmup in spite of the winds out of the northwest today. Lots of sunshine today. Clouds are back tomorrow. You may even see a flurry during the Late Afternoon hours but i think most of the area is going to be dry. 31 degrees tomorrow. On track for the weekend, well be near 40 degrees on saturday and into the 40s on sunday and its a trend that continues going next week. Monday afternoon, 46, look at tuesday, 51 degrees. A chance of some rain showers on tuesday. Thats a cold front that will come through and dry things out for wednesday.
