Some of the vehicles actually moved out of the way on the eastbound side approaching the vine street expressway. Its still blocked off completely. Traffic is till being diverted off on to the vine now from the eastbound schuylkill from the vine street expressway. Head to about south street. That will be another half hour or so where we see that closure. Also watching 422. We look good for the eastbound from 29 to the schuylkill, a nineminute trip. Thats the most it will speeds into the high 50s, as well. Ill end with mass transit, so far, so good. No problems or delays for septa, new jersey transit, amtrak, and the do line. Thank you. We are following breaking news in philadelphias fern rock neighborhood. A shootout on comac after 12 30 injured two men and sent a bullet flying into a womans bedroom window. She was not hurt. Investigators say the men involved in the shootout are in the hospital. Police are holding them as suspects. Detectives think the shooting may be drug related. 4 34. Wildfires grow in southern california. Nearly 200,000 people are being rush to get the under control. Nbc10s dray clark joins us live from the digital operations center. Hundreds of homes have already been destroyed. I mean, to the ground. Reporter yes, a terrible scene in southern lifornia. Strs but not have lost lives. Thats the word coming from authorities there on then burnio of control this morning. Not only are firefighters up against the tremendous flames, remains 0 contained. The wind ishelicoostly groued because it dangerous to fly. Now four wildfires spread through california on tuesday. Thousands of acres and hundreds of thunderstorms have burned. And the largest and most destructive fire is covering roughly 85 square miles in ventura county, thats northwest of los angeles. The fires have led to evacuation orders for nearly 200,000 people. Fires this time of year are not typical in southern california. Dry conditions and again, strong winds continue to give the fires life. The exact cause of the fires are not known at this time. Live in the digital operations center, dray clark, nbc10 news. Thank you. A coach and his rowers from the Penn Athletic Club helped rescue a woman whose car ended up in the philadelphia river. One of the rowers jumped in, opened the car door, and saved the 61yearold woman who was inside the vehicle. Paramedics arrived, gave the woman cpr, and took her to the hospital where shes listed in stable condition. We spoke to the coach who talked about how one of his rowers took action. He jumped back in. Thats when he managed to reach inside and find her arm and pull her out that way. He handed me her arm, i pulled her out and got her on to the boat. Philadelphia police say the driver backed into the river. Theyre working to learn more about how that happened. Headed northbound before you get to 295, trying to get off on 295 until 5 00, as well. That ramp is going to be blocked. We have another 20 minutes there. And this is after the 42 freeway. Once you get to 74 before you or d to the walt whitmabrid so far, so good. No major problems there. Ill end with mass transit. Everything on or close to schedule. Looking at current temperatures across our region because its a little bit of a difference. The cold front slicing through. The result is were fairly mild over areas like philadelphia, south jersey, delaware, and even up into parts of new england. But this cold front is doing its job. Were down to the 30s in syracuse. Pittsburgh at freezing. 28 in detroit. Up to international falls, 8 degrees. This is some seriously cold air thats moving in as we go through the morning hours. As a result, the numbers will fall over the next several hours. Through 10 00, 11 00 in the morning. Then theyre going to pick up a smidge in the afternoon. That means as a whole look how consistent these numbers are. Once we hit that drop, about 8 00 a. M. Or so, 44 degrees. We really dont change much. I think well get down to 43 10 00 a. M. 41 through philadelphia neighborhoods. Thats the low spot. Back up to 40s in the afternoon. 45 at 2 00 p. M. Well see sunshine starting to break through, particularly in thehours. In the afternoon, a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the low to mid 40s. New jersey, same deal. Were at 50 now. It might take just a lite me te off.
