Cyclists held a vigil last night where pastry chef Emily Fredericks was riding her bike Tuesday Morning when a truck struck her. Her friends told us shes one of the warmest people you could ever meet. She was just born an angel. She was just pure good, like no one else. The Cycling Community wants the city to restripe bike lanes as we told you yesterday and add additional features like adding barriers to protect riders. The city says spruce street was already scheduled to restripe next month. A lovers quarrel that ended with a shooting death of a man on the university campus. Authorities are charged the alleged gunman. The 24yearold is charged with murder. He fired three shots at the victim who had been arguing with a woman late tuesday night. Police are still looking into the circumstances that led to the gun being fired. 6 04 right now. Delaware Health Officials are beginning a series of Community Sessions to help families get substance abusers into treatment programs. The first is today at 2 00 p. M. In dover. The next one is wednesday in wilmington. The States Health experts say 11 people died in delaware from suspected overdoses over the thanksgiving holiday period. They point out that people suffering from addiction can be vulnerable over the holidays. Family members and philadelphias may tear community are remembering a murder victim. A hundred people gathered for a vigil in honor of kevin cullen. Police found him unconscious sunday evening. Authorities say a group of teens robbed him an beat him. Cullen died the next day. Kevin was a gentle soul. He was a harmless individual. He had his demons, his drinking, you know, amplified it, but there was not a mean bone in his body. Investigators initially questioned two teens about the attack, but so far no one had been arrested. Its 6 05. Today in philadelphia an abused dog with more than ten broken bones in her face will have reconstructive surgery. Someone found the pit bull mix on the sidewalk in the city over the weekend. A congressman facing Sexual Harassment allegations is promising to fight back against the claims. Four women have accused congressman john conyers of michigan of sexual discrimination, inappropriate touching and lewd behavior. An accident on the eastbound side so this would be traffic right now moving past the south street area and thats moving toward south philadelphia. This is already past the center city. Huge delays moving toward center city right now. Several vehicles obviously involved. A bunch of police cars on the scene there too. Looks like another Emergency Vehicle here as well so there could be some injuries. Right now what we do know is theres one lane getting by. Westbound delay too heading the other direction. All inbound trains right now dealing with 15 minute delays due to signal issues. Back to you. Nbc says more women have come forward accusing fired today show anchor matt lauer of Sexual Misconduct. Nbc news confirms receiving at least two new complaints about lauer following the initial complaint that led to his termination. One is about the anchor having sex with a coworker in his office and a report from variety claims it has found three women who matt lauer subjected to inappropriate sexual behavior. Reporter good morning. Matt lauer had a 20year run here at the today show. His name was synonymous with the popular morning program, but now the program is moving on without him as there are mounting allegations against lauer. Allegations that date back to 2014 when nbc says lauer is accused of acting inappropriately in a sexual manner. Now, word came early yesterday only minutes before the broadcast that lauer had been fired from nbc after a current employee came forward monday night with a complaint of inappropriate sexual behavior. In a statement monday nbc indicated there was a concern the employees claim might not be the first and only allegation against lauer. Then came an article from the New York Times claiming lauer once summoned a coworker to his office and had sex with her. Variety magazine also reporting lauer once gave a colleague an adult item with an explicit note. On another occasion the magazine says the former anchor exposed himself to a female coworker, then reprimanded her for not engaging in a sex act. Nbc wasted no time firing lauer. The allegations were just too serious to ignore. Meantime lauers Award Winning career now damaged by an alleged scandal of his own doing. The revelations certainly are surprising to millions of people who tuned in to watch him every day and devastating for the men and women who sat next to him and they say its not the matt lauer they know. Its hard to reconcile what we are hearing with the man who we know. The story today is the courage of a colleague who did come forward and when and if she wants to tell her story publicly, im sure she will. Reporter back here live, last night was a big night for nbc with the annual lighting of its Christmas Tree here at rockefeller center. Matt lauer was supposed to be part of that big event, but certainly nbc did all that it can to not allow his firing to overshadow last nights event where some half a Million People were here to watch that Tree Lighting. In other news we have new video. This new video from a viewer of a roaring barn fire in Chester County. Cows that were inside the barn were able to get out. The fire started around 9 30 last night. Investigators trying to figure out the cause. Today the full Senate Begins debate on a sweeping overhaul of the nations tax code. Senate republicans hope to pass their tax cut bill by the end of the week. With no democratic support and some republicans waivering, still no guarantee theyll succeed. The president insists tax reform will spur economic growth, but some republicans are concerned the current version could add to the deficit. Others worry about independent projections showing americans making less than 75,000 a year would pay more. Across the country, students staged lockouts against the republican plan. They complained that 12 million americans would no longer be allowed to deduct student Loan Interest from their taxes. And this morning the battalion chief in bucks county is recovering after he slammed an suv into a utility pole. The fire company says the chief was heading to the fire station around 5 30 last night when he swerved to avoid a van on state road and crashed. The pole caught fire and smoldered for more than an hour blocking that stretch of road during the evening rush. Now to burks county where reading wants a casino. The city is trying to take advantage of a new law that allows ten small casinos to open up across the state. In new castle county, the 76 ers and the city of wilmington are teaming up to build a new Youth Sports Center on the east side of the christina river. The project includes three indoor basketball courts, two indoor turf fields and athletic training facilities. It will also be home to the 87 ers, the sixers developmental team. Police activity and it looks like they are starting to allow a lane to get by on one of the sides. So this is route 38 in both directions right near longwood avenue. Were going to tastart to see se delays there as well. So you dont want to go by there right now. Maple avenue is up here or you can take route 70 as well. Of course route 70 is an easy way to get by and no delays on route 730 right now. And well check in with the schuylkill expressway. Nasty delays here on the schuylkills eastbound side. This is traffic moving toward south philadelphia but coming right past the Center City Area. Well start to see some really big delays backed up to the vine street expressway. Obviously several vehicles involved. Ambulances are there, one lane not even a lane, one car at a time kind of squeezing by, so checking back in with 38 and the schuylkill expressway when i come back. Tens of thousands of flights and no pie lolots to fly the pl. One airline thats scrambling to get travelers to their destinations this Holiday Season. And a daycare denies a familys application but they never return their deposit. Nbc responds takes the case and has advice for anyone shopping around for child care. A computer glitch in the scheduling system at American Airlines could mean millions of holiday travelers who booked flights on the airline may never get off the ground. The pilots union says about 15,000 flights during the holiday right now have no pilots. In september she enrolled landon at a daycare. Everything was good to go. We met with the director. We gave them the deposit. But on september 11th, two days after paying the 250 deposit the center sent her an email stating it was overenrolled with no room for landon. We had to enroll him in a new daycare of course and so i had to go and put down the down payment for that. Reporter the Daycare Center did promise to refund her within two weeks to one month, but the check never came. Its a lot for me especially with christmas coming. Reporter after waiting three weeks she started calling about her refund. Every time was told oh, either the checks been sent or were going to send it. And never i never received it. Reporter she says after two months and 12 calls she decided to contact nbc 10 responds. Ive just had it with, you know, not having not having this money back. Reporter we contacted the daycare. The owner says the Accounting Firm got backed up and caused the delay. After we got involved she got her refund a few days later. She blielieves the ring should a family heirloom. Engraving says that the people who own the ring got married more than 55 years ago. My suggest for you right here, right along longwood avenue. What its saying is that the eastbound side is the one thats closed and theyre allowing some traffic to move through on that westbound side but i would avoid it at all costs anyway. Up here is maple avenue, down here is route 70. That would be my suggestion to you no matter which direction youre going to get around for right now because that accident is going to tie things up a lot. On the schuylkill expressway, we have a few views of this. Our cameras on the eastbound side where were seeing a lot of heavy volume. This is the westbound side right here. Eastbound trying to head toward south philly, a ton of cars in the area right here where we have all traffic over into the shoulder squeezing by.
