Blood. Reporter police are not identifying the man in the car. He was 31yearold man. Sources say the two people running from the car, the suspects in this case left a blood trail from the buick to another car near the outback when they took off. We were in the back when it happened when we saw the lights from the cops and came up front. He turned the video over to police. They are relieved they are making quick progress. The cameras were told installed here in the parking lot within the last few weeks. The 31yearold man is from Delaware County. No connection has been made between him and the two people of interest in this case. Were going to keep following this story and bring you breaking developments throughout the day. Deanna durante, nbc 10 news. Our oh breaking news story, a suspect is standoff in a delaware neighborhood. Police have a person in custody after dozens of officers swarmed the area this afternoon. Tim furlong was one of the first reporters at that scene. Well get new information soon. Reporter 4 15 they are going to have a News Conference to talk about what happened. I got the call, around 2 00. Police were swarm iing the area. They were called to a home and they got there and neighbors tell us somebody fired about ten shots. Not necessarily in the direction of police. But what happened is shots were fired. Police took action and what they had to do is is standoff. Neighbors say that it was sort of a dmomestic situation. The wife of the person involved came out first and then eventually police got the other person to come out. They took that person into custody. Lets hear from a neighbor who only spoke to nbc 10. Somebody called the shots. She was at the door yelling that he was trying to commit suicide. They told her to come out and she threw the gun on the ground and threw it in my yard. Reporter its not clear at this point if the wife was taken into custody. The man was. You saw that from sky force 10. He was being dragged away. Sort of resisting being pulled away by police, but they were able to take him away. Were waiting for a News Conference to find out more. For people in the area, they were told to shelter in place. A scary couple hours. I was Walking Around the neighborhood and saw officers with machine guns, s. W. A. T. Teams in the area. Kind of keeping an eye on a couple different houses trying to contain the area the best they could. Neighbors werent getting a on to of information. The situation is over. Lis are still going to be on the scene investigating. But the danger, the threat has been mitigated. You have no reason to stay locked in your house anymore. The former head of Drexel University is admitting to groping seven patients at a clinic lst year. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges today. He will have to register as a sex offender and forfeit his medical license. At least 17 women in pennsylvania, new jersey and new york have stepped forward to accuse him of Sexual Misconduct. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with a state trooper telling his story about a traffic stop. The trooper testified in court about what happened. Steven fisher was inside the courtroom today. Hes joining us live outside the North Hampton county courthouse with more on the troopers testimony. The suspect showed no emotion. Theres some bandaidages on his hand and on the back of his neck. The trooper was in court today. He took the stand and told the court about one of the worst days of his life. Today the trooper told a courtroom he was in fear for his life saying he fought with them and tried to grab their guns. Kelly was hit in the thigh and chest area. The trooper says after claire ri drove away, he found Corporal Kelly over the rail in a puddle of blood. He said he was in bad shape fighting to stay conscious. He suffered hearing loss and has a ringing in his ears from the gunfight. They are determined to put him behind bars for the rest of his life. Im going to be asked for the consecutive seasons for everything he did. He got his break when he s survived. Thats the only break hes getting. Reporter you recall the troopers tried to arrest him on grounds he was under the influence of marijuana. Today we found out the results of that toxicology test. They came out in court. It turns out he tested positive for marijuana. The man accused of kill iing Rookie Police officer near pittsburgh is is in custody this afternoon. Authorities arrested him this morning at a home after getting a tip he was hiding out there. He was accused of killing officer brian shaw during a traffic stop. Police arrested eight others including the mother on charges they helped him avoid authorities over the last five days. To this now, a fugitive on the run for six years is back in bucks county to face charges he killed a woman with his car. He arrived back in the United States this afternoon. He faces a slew of charges including homicide by vehicle. Authorities captured him in peru in january. They say he fled there after learning he would be charged in a deadly crash that happened in middletown township in december of 2010. A fugitive was killed in the crash. He was trying to pass another car illegally when he slammed into her car head on. This afternoon a police chief in south jersey still on the job after accused of sexually harassing fife officers. It started in 2015 with one officer making the claim. Since then four more officers have come forward saying he made unwanted sexual advances towards thim. He collapsed on the ice from a heartrelated emergency during a mens League Championship game wednesday night at this rink in toms river. He stopped breathesing. Without hesitation, playing for the opposing team, started giving cpr. This happened in full hockey gear. The only thing i was able to get off was my gloves. An emt and a firefighter in the crowd also rushed to help with rescue breaths and a defib ril la rillator. I was just happy to be there at the right time. I wasnt letting anything happen. I was make iing sure he was goi to be playing hockey another day. They have a large Senior Citizen population and the officer has had to perform cpr dozens of times during his eight years on the force. He again put his experience into action here the rink. I was ready. Its second nature. This thanksgiving will have a whole new meaning. We have a new perspective for sure. Im thankful that im actually going to be at that table this year.
