Sometimes a tail wind that will help push them along but you have thousands of people making their way through fairmont park, old city, getting all the sights and sounds of philadelphia. Well, with the winter season upon us volunteers with the philadelphia Ship Preservation are preparing for the cold weather ahead. Theyre spending the weekend winterizing the gazella. It is a wooden tall ship along penns landing. Team rubicon built a framed rafter cover to keep ice and snow off the deck. Normally it takes a few weekends to finish. Yesterday volunteers showed up in full force. Were lucky to have help from team rubicon. Its been a oneday affair. Our members are always looking to continue service, help the community, and in this case preserve a little bit of the philadelphia history so special to those of us who live here. The ship once a commercial fishing vessel sails every spring thanks to the efforts of the ships preservation guild. The guild is always looking for volunteers to set sail with them and help with the operation. Hard to think about that ice and snow thats seemingly upon us.
