This off ramp from montgomery drive to the schuylkill expressway eastbound is currently blocked. We tweeted about that, as well. I will have that, more updates on this as the morning progresses if we cant get them to you here on our cameras. Here what you can see clearly is that theyre working on the situation now. Theyre diverting traffic around. Youre not going to be able to get to the schuylkill eastbound from Montgomery County montgomery. 422 looks okay, as well. Eastbound from 29 to the schuylkill, an eightminute trip there. Speeds are into the mid 60s. 422s okay. Well end here in south philly, for the bridget foys fear where were reporting live fire where were reporting live. 2nd and south street where the fire occurred at the restaurant. South between 4th and front, 2nd between lombard and bainbridge, and lombard between front and 2nd is blocked. Around the headhouse square area at society hill. If you have to get out of the area to head to work or school or wherever you have to go, give yourself extra time because youll be detoured around. It might be tricky for you to get out the door. Breaking, police say a man on a deadly crime spree shot three people in fairhill including a neighbor trying to stop the shooter. Officers say the neighbor was shot in front of his wife as he tried to call 911. Nbc10s Randy Gyllenhaal is live at the scene. Randy, police are telling us that the shooter crashed trying to take off from the first scene. Reporter police say the 21yearold suspect had shot a man and woman about a block from here, killing one of them outside a local bar. He tried to drive away but did not get far. Police say he crashed his car here at the pole on b street. The shooter treed to remove the license plate from the toyota camry. That is when some patients in heard what was going on, came outside, and started calling 911. Philly police say the suspect got furious, opened fire, shooting one of the neighbors in the head just because the neighbor was calling the cops. The suspect then ran away on foot. Again, he did not get very far before philly police found him walking. Police say he was still carrying that license plate that he just removed. Police did a great job. 300 blocks from here. Deerfield. They see a man fitting the description. The male had a license plate in his possession. The officers stopped him. It was the license plate from the camry. When they searched the male, he also had a gun in his possession. Reporter he had the handgun on him and was arrested. Two of his victims remain in critical condition. The third victim, the first shot, a 22yearold man shot outside the bar, was pronounced dead. As you see behind me, the investigation still ongoing. Live in the fairhill section of philadelphia, nbc10 news. Breaking news out of south philadelphia. Crews have been battling a restaurant fire for the past few hours. The flames broke out inside bridget foys at 2nd and south streets overnight. This is a live look at the scene. There are around 40 trucks, more than 100 firefighters working to keep the flames from spreading. The fire killed two dogs at a pet groomer next to the restaurant. Deanna durante will bring us a live update on the breaking story coming up at 6 00. 5 36. Happening now, a manhunt in north philadelphia for a suspect involved in a shooting. Police say he escaped from a patrol car while still in handcuffs. Investigators say the effort to track him down led police to a large heroin operation at a house in north philadelphia. It started with a shooting . Junietta. The driver managed to escape from the police car. While looking for him, police stumbled upon ape drug operation in a house where detectives say they found hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of heroin and weapons. 5 37 on this wednesday. This morning, residents remain on alert after police flooded a Montgomery County neighborhood to look for burglary suspects. Officers captured one man, two more are on the run. [ sirens ] scary moments. Neighbors used cell phones to capture police cars speeding down the street in orland yesterday. Officers were chasing the thieves who broke into a house in upper dublin and then crashed their getaway car in orland. The height of the manhunt happened at the time that school buses were dropping off children. One of most vocal critics of President Trump is stepping down. Republican senator jeff flake of arizona says he will not run for reelection. On the senate floor yesterday, flake denounced the political tone that has taken over since President Trump took office. Reckless, outrageous, and undignified behavior has been excused and countenanced as telling it like it is when it is actually just reckless, outrageous, and dignified and undig feed. The white house wasted little time firing back at the arizona senator. The people of this country didnt elect somebody to be week. When he gets hit, hes going to hit back.
