Thats a small portion of the road. They are diverting traffic to the eastbound and westbound sides. Theres the overturned tractortrailer here. You few the Fire Department action you see the Fire Department action. With the fire being active there, as well, a dangerous situation, too. Well be watching this for a bit. This will probably be closed for a while at least until we cget this under control. To the maps, we can see where were looking at here. Were seeing the slowdown. Touting tax reform, first daughter and adviser to the president ivanka trump is coming to bucks county to host a town hall. The event which will happen in richboro will focus on the extended Child Tax Credit and how it will help middle and working class families. Nbc10 has more live from the James Kinney Senior Center in richboro. Tell us more about the event. Reporter well, it will be held by the first daughter, moderated by a former new york congresswoman who served one term under the Obama Administration. The plan is for people to hear from the first daughter about tax reform, tax cuts. Specifically her proposal to increase the childcare tax credit. Right now working families get 1,000 a year for the credit. The white house says that this plan would increase it to 2,000 a year to make decisions that are best for their individual families. When it comings to the weekend tax talk, the president reportedly held a sunday Conference Call in which he had strong words for the gop. He said that 2018 would be a political failure for the republicans and a disappointment for the nation if nay fail on tax overhaul. The president held the Conference Call according to republican sources. And a gop aide familiar with the conversation said trump told lawmakers the party would have a steep price to pay in next years Midterm Election its they failed to pass his plan. Now the trump plan is reported to slash the Corporate Tax rate to 20 and double the standard deduction used by most americans, according to the white house. The president said beyond that with the elections coming up his plan is the right thing for the country. In that Conference Call, trump urge the members to adopt the budget and then move on to his tax reform plan. During the campaign, ivanka trump held a series of town hall meetings, visiting here in bucks county before her father was elected. That style, she was brought in through a side door. It was a heavily controlled event. Again, with a moderator who would ask her questions. She would answer them and take a very few number of questions from the room. New this morning, a man shot in the leg in philadelphia climbs into a car himself and drives about a block from the scene before pulling over the vehicle. The shooting happened around midnight on 29th and strawberry mansion. Plea police found the victim in the stopped car and took him to the hospital where hes in stable condition. Police have not made any arrests. A 3yearold boy is fighting for his life after his older brother shot him in the head in philadelphias tyoga neighborhood. The boys father, sir haven williams, was not home when the 6yearold got his hands on the gun on saturday afternoon and pulled the trigger. Investigators say the boys were actually home alone with their 12yearold brother. Womens is facing child williams is facing child endangerment charges. The 3yearold is in Critical Condition at temple hospital. Bumped and bruised but okay. Three philadelphia Highway Patrol officers are out of the hospital after getting hurt during a motorcycle stunt show. The International Association of chiefs of Police Convention hosted the precision riding show last night. Investigators say the truck is a contractortype pickup with a ladder rack on the back and has red lettering on the drivers side door. The pennsylvania woman who was held hostage with her family in afghanistan for five years is speaking out for the first time. Caitlan coleman emailed her local paper saying childhood memories helped her survive captivity. The taliban abducted coleman and her husband in afghanistan. Pakistani forces rescued the family earlier this month. Coleman remains in a canadian hospital for an undisclosed reason. She said she would not rule out a return to pennsylvania. The soldier who deserted his post in afghanistan and spent years in captivity is facing life in prison at a sentencing hearing today. Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl pleaded guilty to desertion last week. Police departments are using body cameras following a string of highprofile Police Shootings of unarmed civilians. A new study shows the devices might not be all that effective. The study done by a team of washington, d. C. , police and scientists tracked hundreds of district officers for over a year. Now half the officers wore body cameras. Half did not. The Research Found those with body cameras used force at about the same rate as those without the cameras. Also, the number of complaints from citizens against the officers was not different. These findings are in sharp contrast to a previous study that found body cameras did change police behavior. People want to know that your Police Department is being transparent.
