The brothers, a baby, and a 5yearold were found dead yesterday on 9th street in wilmington, dead in a bathtub of a home there. Now the community is asking why. Nbc10s Pamela Osborne is live for us at Police Headquarters with the latest. This is gutwrenching. Reporter it is. Police have charged that mother with murder. She will be arraigned on charges later this morning. As you said, the big question still is why this happened. Its one that police are working to answer. It all started yesterday morning around 8 30. Police got a call from a woman who said that two boys, a baby only a few months old, and a 5yearold were dead. Detectives rushed to the house on west 9th street in wilmington. They found both boys in a bathtub. Investigators spent hours at the house collecting well over a dozen bags of evidence. Later that night, Community Members including a group of schoolchildren came together to play. Others lit candles and left stuffed animals at the home as they try to understand how and why in could have happened in the first place. Its hurtful. Painful to do that to any child. No matter what you go through, you you dont take it out on no children. One of the most tragic situations you think of in life. No one thinks of two little children that age to have been snuffed out, their lives taken. Reporter Police Believe the children had been drowned but will not know for sure until the autopsy results are complete. We know that late last night police went to notify the father of those boys. Next hour, well hear from Community Leaders who said they simply had to be there at the place where this happened, the home, last night. Youll hear why when i came come back.
