Tracking wet weather to begin our day. Hi, krystal. Hi, rosemary. Yet again like yesterday morning a few sprinkles rolling across our area. The rotation of this moisture is from south to north and then its going to start to pull off to the east as we progress through the day. I think chances of rain are very limited and the best chances are going to kind of be against the jersey shore, some of the delaware beaches here, a lesser chance once we get to philadelphia and areas north and west. Still today kind of a dreary day yet again. Were talking cloudy with some fog this morning and those sprinkles in the forecast. Temperatures though markedly different than yesterday morning. Instead of 40s and 50z, most of us are starting in the 60s here. 60 in reading and allentown. Philadelphia at 60 and 65 atlantic city. So these temperatures starting in the 60s today are going to rise into the 70s because were starting that warming trend today. It will take us to the 80s for some by tomorrow. Lets look at the next few hours. Right now were at 63. At 8 00 a. M. Theyll still be about the same 63 degrees, cloudy, winds coming out of the north. Look at 11 00 a. M. , 69 degrees all were up to at that point. Possibly some peeks of sun as we get into the late morning and early afternoon hours. Thats going to help with rising temperatures a bit more than what we saw yesterday. So were talking warmer temperatures today but still dreary and still for some a chance of rain. In a few minutes well take a closer look at the future model and the rest of the neighborhood what theyll look like throughout the day. Well see you shortly. Thanks, krystal. If you plan to drive north on the pennsylvania turnpike this weekend, you will need your patience and gps. About 40 miles of the northeast extension are now closed because of a bridge replacement project. Nbc10 was in Lehigh County at 9 00 last night when turnpike workers moved barricades into place. We watched lucky lastminute drivers get by right before the deadline. The main link between the philadelphia area and the poconos is now cut off until 4 00 monday morning. Most drivers we spoke to say theyre ready for the additional hour theyll have to spend getting around it. We were certainly aware of the closure and planned our trip accordingly. Probably take another way to get home. They say the detour is about an hour extra. Were probably going to have to take it. What are you going to do . You can expect heavy volume on routes 22, 23 and interstate 80. The turnpike detour as you see on the map, for more information on the closures and detours around it, just tap the nbc10 app. Some parents in south jersey are calling for the schools superintendent to resign over mold found inside their childrens schools. Lets look at radar and satellite. Kind of a wide picture im showing you right now shows the bulk of the clouds, the bulk of the rain is actually offshore, but we are getting just a few of these little showers brushing up against the jersey shore, some of the delaware beaches and even a few sprinkles kind of riding the delaware bay here. Now, could we see a sprinkle or two this morning in philly or parts of south jersey . Yes, but i dont think theres going to be a lot of activity for us today aside from shore points. And that will just be really in the morning hours. Look at current winds here, theyre kind of wrapping around and thats bringing then from the northeast fairly light 5 to 10 miles per hour. Not going to be terribly strong wind for us today. Tomorrow it will get windier though as a cold front approaches the area. Lets talk temperatures. Starting in philadelphia, low 60s in the morning, only up to about the low to mid 70s this afternoon. So we are warmer than we saw yesterday, but we are not going to be as warm as tomorrow. Thats when well talk 80s in the forecast because theyll be more sunshine. Mostly cloudy today in the suburbs, 60 up to 73 at 3 00 p. M. Same deal in the lehigh valley, low 70s out there in the afternoon. Delaware, 62 around 7 00 a. M. , up to 74 degrees, little peak of sunshine possible in the afternoon. Well begin with visibility here because this morning we do see some spots of just some patchy fog out there. The most den densely packed fog is over mt. Pocono. Onemile visibility, thats not great but its drivable as long as youre using fog lights and taking it slowly. Once we see the half or quarter mile thats when its more concerning. Good news is we dont see that on the board but down to 3 miles visibility in pottstown, there are some low clouds out there. Radar and satellite shows part of the reason why. Still a good bit of moisture pumping in from the south here and wrapping around our locations. Now, its really just some spotty showers rolling along the jersey shore and up parts of the delaware bay. Most of us only have clouds this morning, not actually rainmaking it to the ground. And i think thats going to kind of be a theme. A lot of us arent going to see rain, but we are going to see plenty of clouds and its going to feel like theres that moisture in the air. Today, 74 is the forecast high in center city. This is warmer than yesterday. Were going to start to see the winds shift a bit and thats going to help to pump in a little bit of change to those temperatures. 73 landsdale, allentown the same. Peeks of sunshine will breakthrough this afternoon and that will pick temperatures up more so than what we saw yesterday. Voorhees, ocean city the same, mid 70s wilmington 74, little spot shower is possible but for the most part remain dry today. Heres one hour by hour model that were going with. As we go through the next few hours into your lunchtime, sprinkles still hitting the jersey shore for the most of us a fairly cloudy day. A few breaks are possible into the afternoon hours and that should help heat us up just a bit. But were going to stay mostly low mid 70s because there will still be a good bit of clouds on into the evening. If youre going to the uconn and temple game, still cloudy at noon for kickoff and 74 is the High Temperature today. Possibly a little peek of sun by end of game and hopefully to celebrate a win. Lets look at the wind forecast for tomorrow. Now, today its not terribly strong winds, but tomorrow we will be in the breezy to windy category, gusts 25 to 30 miles per hour. Heres where the winds really are shifting. So now theyre coming in from the southwest and thats a warm air flow. So thats really going to boost those temperatures by tomorrow were talking many locations making it to the low 80s. Lets look at part of the reason why. Also on our future model we see that by sunday morning a few sprinkles might be lingering, but theyre out pretty quickly. Any fog, any sprinkles by 10 00 a. M. Have thinned out. Whats left the rest of the day, sunshine, that is until the nighttime when the next cold front will roll through. So this is going to be short lived. Sunday well make it up to the 80s, a mix of clouds and sun. But by sunday night some rain will return to the area and then as this rain starts to clear out on monday morning we will be left with much cooler air by your monday. And its going to feel yet again just like fall. So coming up in the next half hour ill look at that tenday on ten and talk more about the temperatures you can expect. Well see you then.
