Not all day rainfall firefighter sunday, but the rain is likely to continue into monday and tuesday. Largely because of Hurricane Nate. Were tracking the impact and the timing of that dangerous storm. Cape may a little bit of light fog. You can see it in the lights this morning. Not any serious fog around, but we do have mostly clear skies. Just a few scattered clouds right now. So the temperatures are still cooling, so theres still a chance well see some fog forming this morning. Notice the clouds to the west not going to be complete sunshine today. Some of those clouds will be coming in, but well still get enough sunshine to warm up into the 80s again today. Right now 57, some light fog in the suburbs, 62 new jersey, Lehigh Valley, normal high is 70, up by 13 compared to that. Above normal in the suburbs, 82 degrees this afternoon. And low 80s for new jersey, the Lehigh Valley and delaware. If youre looking for sunshine at the shore, youll find a lot of it, partly sunny skies and 76 degrees this afternoon. A Philadelphia Store owner is in Critical Condition after someone shot her during an attempted robbery. Nbc10s Randy Gyllenhaal is live outside the hospital where shes being treated. Randy, tell us what happened here. Reporter katy, police say a 48yearold woman was closing up her familys Grocery Store when she was shot in the neck. She was taken here to penn Presbyterian Hospital right now in Critical Condition, but police say shes unable to speak with detectives as doctors work to save her life. Philadelphia police say the gunman entered her familys freddy Grocery Store about 9 00 last night. A neighbor came upon the store a few minutes later, found the store owner holding her neck. She was bleeding profusely and the gunman was gone. Police say it does appear to be some sort of robbery attempt. The Cash Register was open, but right now unclear how many suspects were involved. Just a terrible situation. Here we have people with guns going into a store, its believed to be a male, and clearly a female whos in there looks like shes compliant from what we can tell by the scene. Instead of just taking the money and leaving fires a shot and devastates a family. Reporter and detectives say this family was well liked in that community. Theyve owned that Grocery Store for years. Right now detectives working to get the Surveillance Video from inside the store working, but they are urging people to call their tip line with any information. For now live in university city, Randy Gyllenhaal, nbc10 news. Randy, thank you. Investigators in trenton want to know who shot two people there killing a woman and hurting a 14yearold girl. The double shooting happened around 3 15 yesterday afternoon at a Housing Development on north Willow Street and carver lane. At least 14 shell casings were scattered along the ground. Police have not said if the two women are related or if they were targeted. A neighbor who knew the 58yearold woman who died said she was a beautiful spirit. She said she was walking toward her house, going in her house. And they pow, pow, pow. Anybody that needs a dollar or you need a ride when she was driving and she was just a kind person. The block had four surveillance cameras. Police will look at them to find any leads in the case. New this morning, crews are working to repair power lines after a car crashed into a utility pole in camden county. It happened just before 1 00 a. M. On route 30 in berlin. You can see the signal at the intersection were out and about 15 customers in the area lost power. We are working to find out if anyone in the car was injured. A student with special needs in delaware says hes afraid to go back to school after this fight took place. Take a look. The boys mother says her son was attacked tuesday in the cafeteria at Caesar Rodney high school. The two boys got into an argument, it seemed to be over but then the other boy attacked her son. The other student was charged with offensive touching. The mother says she wants answers from the districts administrators about whether the student will be expended or expelled. I wonder how they would feel if they seen their son getting punched and kicked like that. The womans son was suspended for using foul language in the argument before the fight. Two dead and six more hurt after being hit by a military vehicle on their base in south carolina. Military Officials Say the soldiers were in formation at fort jackson when a military vehicle hit them. Two of the injured are in Critical Condition. Officials called the incident a tragic accident. The army says its started a thorough investigation into how that happened. And today, Vice President mike pence will fly to las vegas to pay his respects to the victims of the mass shooting there. He will take part in a unity prayer, walk and hell speak after it. Now, organizers plan to release a flock of doves after pences speech to commemorate each of the 58 victims killed in the sunday night rampage on the las vegas strip. We are learning new information about the gambling habits of the las vegas shooter. The irs reports Stephen Paddock won 5 million in 2015 alone. He was known for betting big on video poker. Investigators say he was methodical and observant. The motive behind sundays massacre is still unknown. Police are confident no one else entered that hotel room prior to the shooting. Meanwhile, one of the largest gun shows on the east coast opens this morning for day two at the greater philadelphia expo center. 8,000 people are expected in oaks, montgomery county. People we spoke to yesterday said the right to own weapons is one thing, but having a bump stock is not necessary. Ive been involved in weapons for ever. Through the military for the past 50 years. Our skies there are a few scattered clouds around right now and this shower i dont think its even reaching the ground. Looks like its going to be a dry day. And youll need your sunglasses. And dont be surprised if you see some shorts and flipflops during the day as temperatures head into the 80s for philadelphia. Look at the warm up in the suburbs, any fog disappear, 70 at 5 00 and plenty of sunshine for the Lehigh Valley too. A new poll finds that most americans think the country is heading in the wrong direction. Just 24 believe the u. S. Is on a good path. The Vice President is reassuring hurricane victims in puerto rico that the Trump Administration will be there for the long haul. Mike pence took a helicopter tour yesterday to see the damage caused by Hurricane Maria in puerto rico and the u. S. Virgin islands. On the ground the Vice President met with First Responders and visited a church. Puerto rico is short of food and supplies, but u. P. S. Now says its once again able to ship to the island. And there are special discount rates from the u. S. To puerto rico for the rest of the month. New jersey state troopers are headed to puerto rico for a twoweek mission. About 50 troopers left from hamilton Mercer County yesterday. Theyll help direct traffic where roads are damaged and signals are out. Many will work to secure gas stations and stores where survivors continue to wait in long lines for food, water and toiletries. High School Students at Olney Charter school in philadelphia are sending some of those muchneeded supplies to puerto rico. They collected donations yesterday. A School Administrator has family on that island. She also owns a towing company and shes contacted a mer time shipping company to get those supplies to areas in need. And in Northern Liberty it was a night of music and dancing to benefit the hurricane victims. People offered donations during the salsa night at the piaza. Dozens of local organizations have been raising money for puerto rico over the past two weeks. Last night they told the crowd theyve collected 108,000 so far. Nate is now a category 1 hurricane as it heads toward the u. S. Gulf coast. Its traveling over warm waters in the gulf where its expected to strengthen before making landfall tonight. New orleans residents are preparing for nates arrival. The storm is expected to bring strong winds and dangerous storm surge flooding. Some coastal communities are under mandatory evacuation orders. A curfew in new orleans begins at 7 00 tonight. And nate is blamed for 25 deaths so far in Central America. Take a look at this flooding this storm caused in nicaragua. Thousands of people were forced to evacuate their homes around Central America and costa ricas government declared a state of emergency. Were watching nate closely. Nate right in the gulf of mexico has strengthened ahead of schedule. Nate skipped past the yucatan peninsula and that allowed it to maintain its strength and strengthen. And this strengthening may continue as a gradual strengthening. Were now looking at 80mileanhour winds so makes it a category 1 storm. Its really booking along at 22 miles an hour. So theres not a lot of time before it makes landfall later tonight. The showers are just offshore right now. In fact, by early tomorrow morning this is likely to be inland. And it may make landfall just east of new orleans into mississippi, potentially alabama. But even though this is forecast to be a category 1 storm with 90mileanhour winds at that time winds extend far to the east so were looking at a long storm surge here. Thats the biggest threat from nate. And nate will be making a big turn and coming our way. It will be a weakening storm down to 45 miles an hour sunday afternoon and then even weaker as it comes to our area. But thats a lot of moisture. And thats going to be a good deal of rain for our area as it comes into play mainly on monday. Its a fast mover, so its going to move in quickly, get that heavy rain and then its going to be moving out quickly. Right now we are looking at mainly clear skies in the philadelphia area. There are few scattered clouds but no sign of showers. We will stay dry today. Wilmington is in the clear, too, temperatures cooling down this morning. But this afternoon its going to be another warm day. Summerlike temperatures, the trend keeping us in the 80s right on through the weekend and even 80 degrees with the remnants of nate moving through on monday. Then it takes a turn as the temperatures will be cooling down for tuesday, wednesday and look at autumn making a comeback 67 degrees thursday afternoon. We are dry right now. We are clear. And well likely stay dry, but the first showers we get wont be from nate. No, theyll be coming from this cold front thats coming in from the west that will give us a good chance of some scattered showers during the day tomorrow. And then well get the wet weather thats coming courtesy of nate. You can always check out the sevenday any time right at the bottom of the screen. Thats one sevenday for each part of our area. Will keenen says the halloween cemetery scare brings local history to life. The attraction in middle township began last weekend. But some people who live in the Cape May Community say the scare is disrespectful. Its supposed to be a fun experience for the whole community and the surrounding communities.
