Body cam Footage Shows Police officers trying to warn people about the gunfire as they got on the scene near the Country Music festival. Heres what we know this morning. The death toll has risen to 59 after someone died in the hospital yesterday. We are learning just what Stephen Paddock had in the hotel room during the attack. Hooey had 23 guns, most he had 23 guns, mostly rifles. Federal agents met the shooters girlfriend at l. A. X. Last night. Marilou danley has been in the philippines since last week. This morning we have exclusive video of danley at the airport. Thats danley in the wheelchair here. She left for the philippines last week at about the same time paddock wired 100,000 to a bank in that country. Police are not calling her a suspect in the case. Danleys nephew talked about the situation yesterday. I knew that she would have had nothing to do with it, though. Danleys an australian citizen. Authorities are hoping she could shed light on why the massacre happened. Nbc10s matt delucia is live on the las vegas strip. Memorial service for the victims are popping up there. Tell us more about it. Reporter a lot of memorials, tracy and vai. And its important to note that las vegas boulevard here has reopened. People are trying to get back to some sort of normalcy. You see here along the boulevard here, not too many cars at this hour of the night. Just over there in the center median, we have been seeing people coming by to leave candle, flowers, and messages. In some cases, sharing their experiences of what happened this weekend. This as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police shared a new piece of video about the experience of the first responders. Take a look. [ sirens ] [ gunfire ] reporter that is body cam video from some of the first responders. You see the frantic nature of what was going on as the bullets were coming down on the concertgoers. The officers like everyone else had trouble at first figuring out where the shots were coming from. And among the crowd, a Country Musician who was in the front row when the shots started coming at them. Take a listen to what he had to say there were so many people pushing on the fence and pushing weightwise. He looked at the guys and said, push. And they pushed the fence over. They spilled out, he said. Bodies were over the top, so much weight, it knocked the fence over. Thats when everybody took off running. Reporter we have been hearing stories of heroism quite a bit over the past couple of days. And along the las vegas boulevard here, the marquees and billboards have a message of solidarity, as well. We told you about the heartbreaking story of heather and sonny melton. Now this grieving widow is talking about their last moments together. We couldnt tell where the bullets were coming from. He grabbed me from behind and started running with me. I felt him of the him get hit in the back. Heather called sonny an extraordinary person who as a nurse often took care of people at his own expense. Today President Trump and the first lady are heading to las vegas to meet with survivors and first responders. The first lady will also talk with people who were at the concert and helped save lives when the shooting started. Today the gun violence debate will be brought to the house floor in washington. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi along with congressman john lewis are expected to demand immediate passage of a bipartisan bill to strengthen background checks. Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords is also expected to be there. She resigned from congress, youll remember, after a gunman shot her in the head in 2011. People who want stricter regulations say it would help prevent these types of tragedies. Others argue that tougher gun laws would not make a difference. Many people we talked with say theyd back any proposed law that would make the country a safer one, including background checks for gun buyers. I think that someone gets something in their head, theyre going to find a way to do it. Whether its with a gun, a bomb, a car whatever. All we have to do is provide you with the money, and you give them the gun. It could be a felon, could be, you know, somebody with a mental illness, Something Like that. And those are the kind of people who we need to keep the guns away from. In june, a Quinnipiac University poll showed 98 of americans supported background checks for gun purchase. A similar poll showed 89 of gun owners showed restrictions for people with mental illness. The number of Puerto Ricans killed by the effects of Hurricane Maria is double the initial estimates. The governor now says 34 people lost their lives, and theres reason that that number will continue to grow. Part of the reason is that the situation is so chaotic, death certificates cant be signed and recorded quickly enough. The announcement of that increased number of dead came after President Trumps first visit to the island since Hurricane Maria. The commander in chief spent his time meeting with officials and tossing supplies to people impacted by the storm. The president was involved in a war of words with puerto rican officials before he got there. He raised even more eyebrows with two comments. One about the recovery costs. The other comparing the death toll to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. You look at a real catastrophe like katrina, and you look at the tremendous hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people who died. Youve thrown our budget a little out of whack because weve spent a lot of money on puerto rico. Before making those statements the president shook hands with one of his most prominent critics, san juan mayor cruz. The group is flying people to puerto rico to make sure the delivery isnt hampered by reported logistical problems. Police say a camden woman beat her boyfriend to death with two frying pants. This happened at the food market last month in woodland. Officers rushed to the scene after getting a 911 call. The victim was able to tell police his girlfriend chased him from his home to the store and beat him with the pans. He died weeks later at the hospital after feeling pain and dizziness. Police in bridgeton are hoping this mobile substation helps reduce crime. They unveiled it yesterday. Officials say theyll be able to move around to crime hot spots in the town as the need arises. In atlantic county, the old revel casino could have a new owner. The press of Atlantic City reports Mile High Dice has agreed to buy the closed property from current owner glen straub. Mile high is based in denver. Revel closed in 2013 after declaring bankruptcy. And a Montgomery CountySchool District is tops in the country when it comes to musical education.
