Everybody out here still in disbelief about what happened in las vegas yesterday. They still cant believe so many people were shot. So many people were killed and injured. I had the chance to talk to the executive director a little while ago. She talked about the toll this tragedy takes on everybody. Its not just the 59. Its their families, First Responders, this is something that the problem ripples out. This is the work i chose to do. I want to do something to solve it. About a half hour ago, we met dorothy czar, heading into the mgm for a show when she heard that gunfire. It was just total chaos. Shes dplad to be back home in philadelphia now. The deadly shooting here in las vegas has democratic lawmakers in washington making a renewed push for stricter gun laws. Pennsylvania senator bob casey was among the group of senators who spoke out today. They are asking congress to take immediate action and expand the background system. Tonight we spoke to gun experts about what the shooter may have done in las vegas to allow him to fire so many bullets so incredibly fast. A chemical leak inside a plant here has prompted authorities to shut down parts of columbus boulevard and oregon avenue. Hazmat crews are on the scene right now. This is at the ashland chemical plant. No one has been hurt, but people in homes and businesses near columbus and oregon are being told to stay inside with the doors closed and the airconditioning off. The tank thats leaking has a device on it that will contain the spill. In buck. S county, a 2yearold boy is dead after he was thrown from a suspects jeep. The thief crashed that vehicle trying to get away after staeling from a store. That suspect then ran from the crash leaving the boy to die on the road. I want e show you police say it was stolen audio equipment from this Walmart Store where were standing that caused the little boy his life. They have the audacity to take off running after the boy was thrown from the vehicle. Sky force 10 captured this video of the emergency response. Police say the suspect was not being chased after that left, but he blew a red light and struck other two suvs. The toddler boy was thrown from the suv and witnesses say he was lying in the roadway. Police arent saying if the child was the suspects own son or if he was buckled into his car seat. They have cost a child his life. Its a tough day for First Responders as well. Officers apprehended him a short distance from the crash. They brought him back and they began life saving measures on the child. Its very sad. I hope you get what you deserve. We can tell you that police just opened up this intersection. This stretch of bristol pike a few minutes ago. We are expected to learn the suspects name within the hour. He was taken to the hospital to tend to his injuries. Were told he will been right from the hospital to be arraigned in district court. Were live, cydney long is, nbc 10 news. E he says the shooter was two floors above him. He described the loud sound of the gunshots and all the chaos just outside his window. I was probably 30 feet away from this guy killing all these people. All the shots i heard, one in every three probably ended someones life. I have words to describe it. Its disheartening. He shared this picture with us. This is what the concert venue looked like the morkc after th shooting. Tonight investigators say they are processing the guns used in the massacre to try to figure out how the shooter may have modified the weapons to make them automatic. That would have allowed him to fire so many bullets so fast. They are saying 600 rounds a minute. Nbc 10s George Spencer found experts who say our gun laws have not kept up with changing gun technology.
