Curfew to allow rescue crew to do their work and the mayor says the san juan that we knew is no longer there. Now the Dominican Republic is getting ready to face maria. People putting up plywood. Schools suspended, flights suspended and about 4,000 tourists were moved to other hotels. Danger at the jersey shore is subsiding, but the high surf as expected caused beach erosion. We captured monster waves crashing over the sea wall over the jfk beach drive tuesday night that caused severe beach erosion along a quarter mile stretch of the coast. Part of the protective sand dune was washed away. Each of these storms has its own personality and the personality of this storm was really big waves. Ive lived here 40 years and theyre the biggest waves ive ever seen. The city is now looking to make a more permanent fix. In the recent string of hurricanes in the caribbean is forcing couples to postpone or cancel their destination weddings and honeymoons altogether. Newlyweds from south jersey, they postponed their honeymoon to st. Lucia to next year. The original plan was to leave two weeks ago and hurricanes irma and jose changed those plans. Fortunately they were insured so they didnt lose money or their trip accommodations. It actually saved their room, and it was able to reschedule them. Our peace of mind was worth more than anything else. Were relieved and were praying for the people down there. The travel agent said couples are already calling her concerned about caribbean weddings and honeymoon trips for next summer. And Hurricane Season still has several more weeks to go. Yesterday they showed disclosure forms in which they say he did not declare the flights or the hotel stay in paris. The new jersey democrat faces charges that he took bribes from that doctor in return for political influence, charges he denies. Students in a Montgomery CountySchool District to back to School Tomorrow after teachers agreed to end their strike. The strike this week forced schools to cancel classes for the last three days. School is closed today as well. The Teachers Union agreed to go into arbitration with the school board. Teachers have been working without a contract since june. And at the jersey shore there was a bizarre sight there on the boardwalk. A tractor trailer made a wrong turn and ended up on the boards. Police say the 9 ton truck got on the boardwalk and travelled about two and a half miles before stopping. Crews had to take the boardwalk apart just to get the truck off and thats a task that took hours to complete. A lot of manpower as well. Police ticketed the driver for being on the boardwalk. The incident seemed to be just a bad judgment call by the driver. Its 5 05. A group of drivers destroyed a brand new sign pretty quickly. The sign is one of those speed alert signs. First a large Truck Driving close to the curb yesterday morning ripped it off the post and then vehicles behind the truck continued to run over the sign. Police hope someone saw something and will come forward to help them solve this crime. Lyft is teaming up with budweiser to help combat drunk driving by offering free rides in pennsylvania. Only on nbc 10, a young woman caught on camera getting punched and robbed on a septa train says she stepped in to protect a group of girls getting bullied when she was attacked. The woman in that video says others stood by and just watched. We live in septa headquarters. That woman says she has no regrets. Reporter she said she stood up to bullies and what she got in return was a black eye and some bruises. She was punched in the head and now she is telling her story. Take a look at that video there. Cell phone video that was posted to social media showing a group of teen girls attacking temple student megan milligan. This was on septas broad street line. The attack happened when she tried to stop one group of girls from bullying another small group of students. This all happened between city hall and gerard stations. Megan says she would do it all over again and riders we talked with say what they see in that video was horrible. There was two girls had hit me in the face and then there was at least three girls at the exit that were hitting me in the back of the head. Its like people dont have the training at home and no offense to their parents but its like, come on now. Reporter there was one woman who did help her to get to safety. She would like the opportunity to thank that person. Meantime septa police say they are working on identifying the teens who are in that video and they hope to make arrests fairly soon. Im sure they will find those people involved. Hope that people like that are safe and that they arrest those who perpetrated that act. Jose is pushing farther away from us and weakening at the same time so were seeing less of an effect than we have all week long. Philadelphia, clear skies, just a gentle breeze blowing. Just 7 miles an hour winds and look at that at the shore. Even lighter. 5 Miles Per Hour for atlantic city, down to 3 in wildwood. The wind will still be with us during the day today but not as strong during the day. A few clouds that are spinning into the area off of jose which is just offshore and the rain stays offshore. Thats impacting new england into the cape cod, theyll see some heavy surf there and gusty winds but our area will stay dry. The rip current risk along the coast is still elevated but other than that a beautiful last full day of summer. Clouds and shower off the cold front, but this is going to fall apart as it stays out of the area. Joses rains will also stay out so right on through the day, this is 4 30 this afternoon. Youll see dry conditions. Some scattered clouds at times especially into the evening hours at 10 30 this evening, mostly cloudy skies in delaware and south jersey, but still dry at this hour and no sign of any rainfall for the Lehigh Valley and the suburbs too. Then into tomorrow morning, those clouds will thin out and well start the last day of summer with fall arriving in the afternoon. Workers filled the lobby of telepoint communications tuesday night. This Video Shows Police asking them to leave. We talked to one worker about the issue. They didnt even have a check for me at all so they did personal checks. Then you take them to the bank and theyre bouncing. Theres no money in the account. Telepoint Communications Says they recently hired a thousand people and hath had a late payroll that required some checks to be handwritten. The Payroll Company says the problem might be due to invalid ids or Check Cashing companies who decided to not honor the checks. They said the checks are valid and funds are available and advised workers to try to cash them again. The Equifax Company accidentally misdirected victims looking for help.
