Breaking overnight, bullets fly in a home in the kingsessing neighborhood hitting two women and missing a 3yearold child inside. Police are looking for the shooter. Massachusetts is live for us in University City outside the hospital where those women were taken. Matt, earlier you told us how barring the front door according to police helped these women escape worse injury. Reporter right. Philly police say these women are lucky considering that if they had opened the door they could have been much more seriously injured or possibly killed. They kept that front door closed. Well show you video from before 2 00 this morning on the 5400 block of hadfield street in kingsessing. Police say there was a loud bang at the door. One of the two women walked to the peephole to see what was going on, thats when the gunfire started. A 40yearold woman was shot in the abdomen. Her friend, a 36yearold woman, was shot in the thigh. At least ten shots went through the door hitting everything from furniture to the walls and the ceiling. There was also a 3yearold girl inside the house. She was not injured. Both of the women in stable condition. Theyre expected to survive. Philly Police Detectives are hoping to get more information from them about what happened there. The only description of the shooter at this point is that it was a man with a mask. They are looking for more information this hour. For now live outside University City, matt delucia. Thanks for the update. Were also following breaking news out of london. This is a look outside of a subway station where police say theres been a terrorist incident. According to the associated press, a passenger at the subway green subway stop said there was panic after an explosion on the train. A witness said a woman on the platform claimed she saw a flash and heard a bang. According to one witness, he saw pef he saw several people hurt, trampled as the group fled from the subway stop. These are pictures posted on social media a short time ago. They show what appears to be a white container burning. Fire coming from it and its char. The twitter user wrote, there was an explosion and a fireball flew down the train car. They jumped out an open door to safety. It is too early to know who may be responsible for the latest incident. Three women are facing prostitution charges after Philadelphia Police busted a massage parlor near rittenhouse square. Nbc10 was the only station there as police made arrests and shut down the business. The bust came after neighbors complained of groups of men ringing the doorbell day and night. One neighbor who didnt want to be shown on television but spoke to us said shes been complaining to police for nearly a year. 8 00 a. M. In the morning or 3 00 a. M. In the morning, 5 00 in the afternoon. Its a 24 7 prostitution house. Its a safety concern. Im going to try to put everyone in my neighborhood in the best environment that i can. Investigators say that is not the first time theyve made prostitution arrests at this location. Nbc10 checked the state boards mass angel therapy and Massage Therapy and did not find a license for a business there. 6 06. Were learning details about the hours leading up to the death of a freshman lacrosse player at lafayette college. Sources tell nbc10 that police have begun interviewing students who attended a party with Mccray Williams on saturday. Weve also learned a number of players from the Lacrosse Team were at the party and williams left the party with a young woman. An autopsy shows the 19yearold died from blunt force head injuries. Investigators have not said what caused those injuries. Today friends, family, and those who appreciate and admire the perseverance of Edith Windsor will pay their final respects. Windsors public funeral will be in manhattan this afternoon. The gay rights icon was a philadelphia native. She moved to new york in the 1950s. The governor and lawmakers are racing to reach a deal before the state rounts of money to pay the runs out of money to pay the bills. The Governors Office plans to release details on the funding deficit. One outstanding billives in a medicaid payment to bill includes a medicaid payment to insurance providers. The governor opposes a package passed by house republicans. The senate has yet to vote on it. Lawmakers have been working since july to close the states 2. 2 billion budget gap. The problems keep piling up for equifax. Millions of americans who had their personal information exposed, possibly stolen. Thats right. The federal trade commission is among the agencies investigating the creditmonitoring company. Meantime, consumers are running into more roadblocks as they try to protect their vital information. The pinelands pipeline will run through burlington, ocean, and monmouth counties. You may remember earlier this year, environmental groups challenged the project claiming it could destroy environmentally sensitive lands and could threaten communities. Wilmington firefighter was t to make sure people have smoke detectors that are working correctly. The department hands out smoke detectors after every deadly fire in neighborhoods across the city. Earlier this week in wilmington, a man died when he ran back into his burning home. He thought his wife was still inside. She had already made it out safely. An announcement is coming today about preserving history in chester county. A National Initiative on preserving revolutionary wars says it scored a victory for preserving the historic brandywine battlefield. This morning, congressmen will be on hands to make the announcement. This month marks 240 years since the battle of brandywine.
