Theyve not released the name of the 15yearold. Hes accused of breaking into the girls home last month, carrying her out of the house and beating and sexually assaulting her. Hes charged with a long list of crimes, including attempted murder and rape. The District Attorney will decide whether to try him as an adult. Laurel house shelter would relocate next to st. Titus charge. Some Property Owners oppose the plan saying it will reduce property values. Kane is not able. Thats the slogan of a grass roots campaign. A group of political activists files on planning additional complaints with the Supreme CourtDisciplinary Board today. They want kane removed by labor day. In just a few hours, congressman chaka fattah will make his First Court Appearance since being indicted on federal corruption charges. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live outside the courthouse. Before we get to today, the congressman it making two requests to make sure he gets a fair trial. Tell us more about that. Reporter tracy, congressman chaka fattah has maintained his innocence through this whole thing and is now asking fellow lawmakers to look into the investigation. Hes asking the Congressional Committee on oversight and government reform to, one, require the department of justice preserve any materials relevanted to the case and secondly, he wants the committee to review the work of Justice Department as it relates to how they collected the evidence against him. In a letter to the Committee Chairman and the ranking member, fattah writes my case appears to be conducted in a manner that suggests prosecutorial misconduct. Hes accused of misuse of influence, stealing taxpayer money and having a secret Campaign Loan as well as taking a bribe from a lobbyist. 22 charges in all. The congressman is trying to accuse federal investigators much violating grand jury secrecy laws in an effort to embarrass him. Leaders of several Delaware CountySchool Districts will call on state legislators today to pass a budget before the school year begins. A local organization dedicated to teachers is getting a big gift. Ed camp is a program run for teachers by teachers. The bill and me Linda Gates Foundation is giving the group a 2 million grant. Happening today, congressman chaka fattah will make his First Court Appearance on corruption charges. Hes facing 22 counts, including bribery and misuse of influence. Fattah is calling on fellow lawmakers in washington to review the handling of this case. Fattah wrote a letter to the chairman of the committee on oversight and government reform now accusing federal investigators of violating grand jury secrecy laws in an effort to embarrass him. Hes asking that the department of justice preserve any and all materials related to the case. Congressman fattah is due in court at around 1 30 this afternoon.
