Somebody shot a man at croskey and berk street around midnight in philadelphia. No arrests in this case. Police are trying to figure out what happened during a Home Invasion in west oak lane. Authorities say two men were armed with guns when they demanded money inside a home on cornelius street. When they were searching the home, two shots were fired. No one was hurt. No arrests here either. Two families and a firefight rer in the hospital after getting sick from Carbon Monoxide fumes. It happened on island avenue in southwest philadelphia. Investigators tell us an older couple left their car running in the garage. The fumes spread through their house and into the row home next door. Seven people including a firefighter and two children were taken to presbyterian hospital. Everybody is expected to be okay. The bakery behind the bread used for your cheese steak or your hoagy is shutting down and amorosos announced its moving to Camden County and laying off hundreds of employees. Yes, theyre disappointed obviously, especially those who have worked here for several decades. The news of the layoffs went out to the workers in a memo on wednesday night. For now, the workers are still coming to work. Some 200 workers actually come to the job here every day. This bakery has been around for quite a while. Amorosos says it has outgrown the location on south 55th street. They bought a facility in belmar two years ago. The reason for the layoffs, a new company is being formed with the move. The positions will be terminated. The people who work here now will have to interview for the new jobs. The workers ive been talking with, most of them have a positive outlook. They tell me this was not a complete surprise but workers had a feeling this time would come. The end is finally here. They talked about it for the last three, four years and now its finally here. So we have to find another job, another way to feed our families. Life goes on. I cant change whats going to happen. You have to move on with your life. Just thank jesus you had a job. I had a job. I have to move on. The layoffs of these some 200 workers wont start until october. Once that happens, the men you heard from are done. They doubt theyll be reapplying to work in new jersey. It happened just before midnight tuesday night in north philadelphia. The man attacks, smashing windows and beating the woman. The suspects mother thinks she must have angered the driver a few blocks back. They breaked all the windows. The suspect then leaves in a dark suv. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Her family says she has a broken wrist and hopes somebody recognizes the man or the suv he was driving. Philadelphia police are searching for the man who chased and attacked the woman in queen village. This happened last friday. Police just released the Surveillance Video yesterday. In the distance you see the man slam the woman to the ground on passyunk avenue. This morning, the family mourning the death of an 11yearold boy from Delaware County still has many unanswered questions. Laquan lattimore left his block monday afternoon, he ended up two miles away dead in darnby creek. The medical examiner has ruled his death an accidental drowning. Thats what police know. What they dont know is what happened to lattimores bike and backpack or who was with him. And they cant explain why the nonswimmer would have gotten into the murky fastmoving water. Theres a lot to be investigated. A lot of people to be looked at. We just dont believe it happened the way it did. Everything is just like you know, in riddles. Despite the confusing question, police do not believe foul play is related to this death. Investigators tell us that whoever was with laquan when this happened is not in trouble. Monique braxton is live at Police Headquarters with an update on the investigation. Reporter they tell us according to the family, the victim suffered a broken wrist. Take a look at this video. It shows exactly what she endured. Police and the womans family hope you recognize this batwielding attacker. Police say the 26yearold had paused at a stop sign just before the rampage occurred. The attacker smashed windows. She attempts to run but is chased down and beaten again. The attacker is described as a black male about 40 years of age. He was wearing an orange shirt and blue jean shorts. Police are investigating if the incident may have stemmed from road rage. The victim may have cut off the attacker while driving. Citizens Crime Commission is hoping a new reward will help solve a case of an elderly korean war veteran attacked in his Chester County home last month. The commission is now offering 6,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. The 81yearold victim spoke only to nbc 10 after the crime last month. He told us that the man who attacked him was pretending to be a water worker. Police released this sketch of the attacker. Take a look. If you recognize him, call police. A Camden County man is recovering after he was love in the woods for days. Police have been looking for James Wharton since tuesday morning. He called 911 twice to say he was lost in the woods in winslow township. That was the last that police had heard from him until last night. Officers found wharton along some train tracks off williamstown road. They took him to the hospital to be checked out. They tell us he was in good spirits. Shutting down and shipping out. We have new information in the case of a Cape May County boy who disappeared almost 25 years ago. Only nbc 10 was at the middle Township Police station yesterday when this man, daniel coll showed up for a new interview with detectives. The former prostitute told us earlier this week that the man in this picture, thomas butcavage, showed him a video in 1993 of a boy being sexually assaulted. Coll is convinced it was Mark Himebaugh who was 11 when he vanished from his neighborhood. Been wanting to come down here for a long time. Now is the right time . This is the right time. Coll says butcavage confessed to disposing of the boy in the video along with several other kids. Also according to coll butcavage said he stayed at a camp ground in middle township less than two miles from himebaughs neighborhood. Butcavage denied involvement and was never charged in this case. But he is considered a person of interest. Philadelphia Public Schools are now requesting more time off ahead of the popes visit. Schools are already off on wednesday, september 23rd for yom kippur. Investigators say the victim cannot talk because of her injuries but she held up two fingers to police to indicate there were two attackers. New york city officials now say ten people have died in the outbreak of legionnaires disease. Doctors have diagnosed 100 people with the disease. Officials say five cooling towers in the south bronx tested positive for the bacteria that caused the disease. Crews have decontaminated those towers and the citys Health Department ordered all buildings with cooler towers to be tested over the next two weeks and decontaminated if necessary. A Westchester University employee tested positive for legionnaires last month. This week out west californias governor is checking in with the crews and volunteers who are battling this massive wildfire. Yesterday, he spoke about how the droughtstricken state is hotter and drier than its ever been making the wildfires more severe. The governor also said those conditions are extending the fire seas. This fire here has burned more than 100 square miles since it started a little over a week ago. Its about 40 contained right now. An Atlantic County Police Department has a new tool to help during Severe Weather. Four humvees and a fiveton cargo truck. The Department Says theyre needed to replace two fire trucks lost to flooding during superstorm sandy. Police use of military vehicles came under scrutiny in ferguson, missouri last year. They were used during the demonstrations that rocked that city. Police in brigantine says thats not what their vehicles are for. They plan to use them during hurricanes and Severe Weather since they are able to drive through the high water. It is 6 45. Events making the anniversary of Michael Bruns death begin today. It was one year ago sunday that a Police Officer shot and killed the unarmed teenager. Later tonight there will be a benefit concert called heal our city. New details and an update on the Movie Theater attack in tennessee. Police now say Vincente Montano had a canister of propane, lighter fluid and a lighter and may have intended on setting off an explosive device. According to authorities montano started his attack wednesday by pepper spraying two women and wounding a man with an ax. They also say that montano fired pellets at Police Officers who shot and killed him. Fired a second time. Thats whats about to happen to a Philadelphia Police narcotics officer who won his job back after he was cleared of corruption charges. This time police say the firing is because he failed a drug test. According to Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey perry betts will be suspended for 30 days with the intent to dismiss. A Law Enforcement source tells nbc 10 that betts tested positive for marijuana. You may remember back in may, a jury acquitted betts and five other officers of federal corruption charges. After the acquittal, a judge ruled the department had to give the officers those narcotics officers their jobs back. They have since filed defamation suit against city officials. Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane has less than 48 hours to turn herself in now that shes been charged with several crimes. The charges include perjury, obstruction and conspiracy. Kane is accused of leaking secret grand jury information to punish two former staffers she felt were critical of her. Now pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is among those calling for her to resign. You dont know how she can defend herself against those serious charges and remain in office and do the job that we pennsylvanians need her to do to be the chief Law Enforcement officer. You can see the northbound drive times doing okay there as well. If youre heading out the door on the schuylkill starting to see yellow. A little bit of slowdowns if youre headed eastbound, through the conshohocken curve or the westbound lanes as well. The eastbound drive times are still okay. Westbound is 15 minutes. Adding on about three minutes or so. Not bad, not that drastic from the vine up towards the blue route. This is a Shopping Center at the intersection of city avenue and haverford avenue. Investigators say someone shot a woman in the face here around 6 00 this morning. This is a live look from the scene. Weve just learned that police are handling this as a shooting involving a robbery. Weve learned that the victim is a 57yearold woman. Police tell us the bullet hit her in the chin and its lodged in her neck. Police are now looking for the purse, the womans purse thats missing and of course the victim is in the hospital. Amorosos bakery here is laying off some 200 workers as it moves operations over the bridge to Camden County. Workers were notified in a memo wednesday night they will have to reapply for their jobs at the new facility in belmar. Amoroso amorosos are moving to expand operations. The bakery location on south 55th street here as been running for 55 years. Some of the workers ive been talking with this morning say they dont want to move to new jersey and theyll walk once the layoffs take effect starting in october. Im Monique Braxton live outside Police Headquarters where detectives are investigating if a road rage incident possibly led to a brutal bat attack. The victims family tells us she has a broken wrist. Take ak loot awhat she endured. Police say the 26yearold victim stopped at a stop sign just before the rampage occurred. The attacker smashes her windows. The attacker is describe as a black heal about 40 years of age, wearing an orange shirt and blue jean shorts. Police say if you recognize the individual seen wielding the bat, give them a call.
