What it is we have an off ramp closed off around Spring Garden street as you conan see, headed towards the schuylkill expressway westbound. You can access it eastbound from the on sit side but the westbound lanes are closed right here. So on the schuylkill expressway you can see the traffic still moving along nicely behind that. If you have to take the schuylkill expressway westbound, hop off of girard avenue to get on to the schuylkill and youll be just fine right there. As for the drive times around the philadelphia area 95 southbound still not showing any heavy drive times. 15 minutes from woodhaven road up towards the vine street expressway. The schuylkill we just looked at. Looking okay. No problems on the blue route headed southbound a 14minute trip from the schuylkill expressway up towards 95. Vai . New from overnight, two people were taken to the hospital after a fire break out in this home on kingsessing avenue. Crews quickly got it under control within 20 minutes. No word on a cause. Also new from overnight, shell casings line a street in philadelphias feltonville section after three people were shot overnight. One of the three people was in a home when he was shot through a window. Police are looking for three men last seen running through an alley in dark colored clothing. Its 6 02. Happening today, a philadelphia man accused of stabbing his wife and 1yearold baby daughter will face a judge in maryland. Police arrested Stephen Burton sunday night. It is unclear when he will be brought back to philadelphia to face charges. A neighbor hold nbc 10 she heard Danecia Burton screaming in her home in West Oak Lane on sunday morning and she saw Stephen Burton standing over her, cutting her with a knife. Police say Stephen Burton also stabbed the couples 1yearold daughter in the stomach. Both mother and child remain in critical condition. Happening today, a federal judge in camden will sentence Nicodemo Scarfo for his racketeering and fraud convictions. The son of jailed mob house little nicki scarfo along with salvatore and several associates siphoned millions of dollars from a texas Mortgage Firm in 2007 and 2008. Scarfo and palulo each face 30 years to life in prison. Two north wilmington banks have been robbed since may, one bank twice. Police think the same guy is responsible for all three. They want to see if you recognize him or the unusual sweater hes wearing in a new picture. The first robbery was may 14th at the Artisans Bank on silverside road. In philadelphia jury selection will resume in a trial of a man accused of murdering a prospect prospective buyer on craigslist. Thomas coffey faces a list of charges in the shooting death of daniel cook. Cook was gunned down in West Oak Lane in 2013. Police say he was in the area to buy an atv that he saw advertised on craigslist. They say when cook showed up for the sale coffey robbed and killed him. Billions of dollars in damages. Thats what three Public WorkersPension Funds are look for in a lawsuit against the state of new jersey. The suit claims the state breached contracts when it contributed less than it planned. The filing is the latest in more than a year of legal bats over pension contributions in new jersey. Governor Chris Christie decided last year to veer from a Pension Funding plan that he signed into law in 2011. The state Supreme Court ruled it cant force a state to put money into the funds at a certain time. The justices found that retirees are entitled to the pensions that theyve been promised. A Health Care Firm is challenging a new state law in new jersey that could change Ambulance Service for a leading hospital. The law allows Cooper University hospital in camden to run its own Paramedic Services there. Virtua has the current contract. It is now suing the state, claiming the law unfairly allows cooper to sidestep the process for awarding paramedic contracts. There may also be a political angle here. The 19foot boat that the two 14yearolds were on was found capsized about 70 miles offshore and 170 miles north of where they left. A captain was on the water the same day the teens left and says there was a bad storm headed towards the shore. All the boats were racing towards the inlet except three, including the one the missing boys may have been on board. The storm was gone. I turned around and looked back there. It was nice out. But, you know i had no idea what happened to them. Navy crews are now a part of the u. S. Coast guards expanded search off the florida coastline. We now know how a box of cremated remains wound up in an empty lot in north philadelphia. A woman reached out to nbc 10 last night and said she was friends with the deceased woman whose name is linda upshur. This woman, also named linda said upshur was like family to her. She had the remans in her old apartment. I had the ashes for three or four years. My husband passed away and when i moved out, i left a lot of things behind. I guess thats how you guys found her ashes. Cooper says she never intended any disrespect. A box of ashes is now in police custody. Upshur could get the proper scattering friends say she had always wanted. 6 18. Skyforce 10 is over the water main break on the boulevard causing traffic problems. Jesse gary is live on the scene with an update. The firefighters it looks like their job is done and now the investigation takes over. Reporter vai thats exactly right. The fire marshal investigators are right there in the picture, in the black shirt. Theyre focusing on the left corner of the structure. Thats where they believe the fire originated a front room on the left side of this large house. Lets take a look at the video we have. This was taken by a neighbor michael fody early around 3 30 when the flames first erupted. It was a twoalarm fire that quickly engulfed this threestory large home in Gloucester County. Lets hear from michael fody. Parts were blowing out of the left side of the house here. Within 15 minutes it seemed like the entire house was engulfed. The firefighters say no one was home at the time. Mike foti says the family that lives here is out of the country traveling. This is unfortunate news for them. The flames were so intense, not only did they burn them but the heat from the flames singed the house of mike foti which is right beside it and also one of his vehicles. New developments involving the robbery suspect that led police on a wild chase that went back and forth between philadelphia and new jersey for two hours. Katy zachry is there. Reporter it was a wild chase this morning. The suspect was escorted into southwest detectives just br behind behind me. He led police on a highspeed chase for over two hours. He drove the white van from oakland, new jersey where he was first spotted by officers into philadelphia, throughout the city, back to new jersey we sped through a crowded mall parking lot and once again back into philadelphia. The chase finally came to an end after the man flipped near the Philadelphia International airport. Just look dazed and confused at the time of arrest. Were fortunate no one was injured, the public. The officers did a nice job from the Aviation Unit pennsylvania splaes in oakland staying behind as far as a safe distance. Reporter and police say ritter is wanted for robbing a new Jersey Business with a shotgun. So quick. Just before the crash the arroyo brothers wrapped up six hours of repair work on a van for osvaldos son who has special needs. The mystery man left once the ambulance got there. After the accident i kept asking my husband who this person was, this steve person i woke up to. And you know he said all i know is his name is steve. There happened to be a picture on one of the bikers phones. We were all very concerned about her and never expected to know anything more. The fact that she reached out through facebook and through nbc 10 is just an amazing testament to the power of social media today. And the power of television. And as the temperatures climb, the fog that you can see in the valleys and this view from the french manor in the pocono mountains, that figure will disappear. With sunshine the temperatures climbing into the mountains, too, into the upper 80s. Right now, not a fog problem in south jersey and delaware but look at coatesville, zero visibility, dense fog in pottstown at a quarter mile visibility. Its starting to improve in mt. Holly and in mt. Pocono. Sunshine will be bright. The temperatures 90s today. Today wont be as hot nor as humid as it will be tomorrow. The heat and humeidity building tomorrow. Again on thursday ahead of that. Those are showers and thunderstorms that will cool things down later in the week but weve got lots of hot, humid air before these showers roll in. During the day today, well be in the low 90s. Tomorrow afternoon, those storms will be to our west. The humidity building in the area will be in the middle 90s. It will feel like its in the upper 90s thanks to the high humidity. Wee relief will come thursday afternoon. Drier, less humid air, youll feel the difference come friday. But thursday evening we could see storms for the commute. For today, youll see sunshine hot, humid conditions 90s this afternoon. The thick fog is worse in chester county. Its zero visibility for the last 2 1 2 hours. Quarter mile visibility now in pottstown. Its starting to ease in other areas including in wrightstown where its sevenmile visibility. The fog will disappear, the temperatures climb from the 60s through the 70s and into the 80s topping out in the 90s this afternoon.
