We are dealing with average speeds of 48 miles per hour. Lower than normal right around 8th street. Headed towards the schuylkill might take you a few minutes. If youre headed towards the philadelphia area 95 southbound from woodhaven road up towards the vine 13 minutes. 13 minutes as well on the schuylkill expressway, eastbound from the vine street expressway from the blue route, no problems on the blue route, 15minute trip headed southbound. Were dealing with a small road closure in kintnersville in bucks county. A downed tree is closing portions of easton road between lennen lennenroad and route 22. A hit and run crash in the juniata neighborhood that killed one person and left a second hospitalized. There have been developments. Jesse gary is live at the Police Investigations division. They have found the striking vehicle from this fatal crash but it was empty. Theyll check the vehicle on the interior for dna and fingerprint evidence to hopefully lead them to the person behind the wheel. It happened last night in juniata. The impact did heavy damage to the drivers side of this dark blue fourdoor saedan. The driver was killed but the passenger, a man in his 30s said to be doing okay at Temple University hospital. The striking vehicle sped off from the scene. We dont know what that vehicle looks like only that police have found the car. Coming up in the next 30 minutes, well check in with investigators here get a better idea of how close they are to finding the person who was behind the wheel at the time of the fatal accident. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live on scene in pennsauken. Tell us why people were forced to stay out of their homes for hours even though the fire was out . Reporter they were tracy. Well get to that in one second. I want to give you an update. Nearly everyone has been let back inside cooper river plaza apartments here in pennsauken after fire broke out on the first floor, just before midnight. And since that time dozens of people nearly 350 people were forced to be outside in the rain heavy downpours. Firefighters made sure that the building was safe. When firefighters did arrive they found fire on the first floor in a common area. They evacuated all 350 People Living here. Some did have difficulty getting down stairs with disability and had to be helped by emts who were also on the scene. Others tell me they thought it was a false alarm at first. I was just laying in my bed and i heard this sound. It was pretty weird. I came outside, i saw some smoke right outside. I just came down aennd then they started smashing the windows with smoke coming out of them. Fire did not travel beyond the first floor but smoke did. The firefighters spent several hours checking Carbon Monoxide levels on all floors before letting anybody back inside. There were no injuries to the 350 people that live at this apartment high raise. One injury was reported to a firefighter who had to be checked here at the scene for exhaustion. We are told hes going to be okay. The cause of the fire is under investigation right now. The late daughter of Whitney Houston and singer bobby brown died yesterday at the age of 22. Almost six months ago she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at her atlanta area home. She underwent treatment at two hospitals and a rehabilitation facility but never regained consciousness. It is bizarre that the same type of incident would happen involving a mother and a daughter. And she said that because as you know three years ago, Whitney Houston drown in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel. Police have investigated the circumstances of Bobbi Kristinas death but have not revealed their results. Happening today the exsoninlaw of former pennsylvania governor tom corbett is scheduled to stand trial on theft charges. Gerald gibson is accuse of stealing money from a car during a sting operation in 2013. Investigators say gibson was on duty as a Philadelphia Police narcotics officer at the time. A judge declared a mistrial in the case last october. This morning, two phone companies are working to fix a 911 problem in berks county. The county department of Emergency Services says Sprint Wireless customers are hearing a squealing noise when they call 911. The dispatchers at the call center hear the same noise, making communication impossible. Both sprint and verizon are working on the problem. This morning were hearing from the man who fouot a robbery victim beaten and bloodied just moments after three teens attacked him. It happened at a gas station on east broadway in salem, salem county early friday morning. Police say the teens beat a 61yearold man and stole his watch. James cooper stopped at that gas station to grab a snack. He says he saw the three teens running away, leaving the man on the ground his face badly swollen and bleeding. He immediately started recording video with his cell phone. And i seen him stretched out on the ground. Thats what i said, you know what, let me help this guy out. I grabbed my phone. Hold on. Let me get you help, man. Looked like he got beat bad, kicks, punches. Ier, i could have got there earlier. Not only did he call police he visited the man in the hospital yesterday. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf will be in willow grove today to promote schools and push his budget plan. Wolf will visit Willow Hill Elementary School as part of his ongoing schools that teach tour. He plans to talk about his plan to increase funding for education. The governor has proposed a tax on the Natural Gas Industry to fund a billion dollars for schools. Now to our Lehigh Valley bureau and township commissioners in bethlehem want to fight flash flooding by taxing property owners. This move follows last months storms which cost the township 250,000. Their proposed storm water fee would run between 25 and 150 a year and would be used to fund storm water drainage projects. Township officials will meet next week to discuss that plan. People that were evacuated because of the huge warehouse fire in Central New Jersey are finally back in their homes now. The fire broke out last wednesday morning at a warehouse in north brunswick, middlesex county. Officials announced yesterday that residents could return to their homes. Investigators still have not figured out what caused that fire. This morning an nfl hall of famer is offering big money to find two 14yearold boysmying in the atlantic ocean. Yesterday, the coast guard found the teens capsized boat nearly 70 miles off the coast of jupiter, florida. The two were last seen on friday buying fuel before going fishing. As cars travel through, water sprays out from underneath. Still, northbound or southbound doing okay. Drive times still about 15 minutes headed from the schuylkill up towards 95. No real problems there. If youre heading out the door on 95 throughout delaware, northbound and southbound drive times affected there. From 295 to 495, about an 11minute trip.
