After a relatively comfortable start to july we are getting extreme heat out here and we have a firstalert weather day as a result. Dangerous heat the stifling humidity and its still going to be pretty hot tomorrow. Were not going to be getting a break until tomorrow night or wednesday. Its 88 degrees now, only a 5 mileanhour wind and feels like 90 and it is a degree hotter than it was at this time yesterday and yesterday we got up to 95 degrees and likely to get a heat wave because tomorrow is likely to be over 90 as well. We hit 89 degrees on saturday and of course with the higher humidity it feels even hotter. Its 89 in northeast philly and 86 in redding and 88 in georgetown delaware and its even hot at the beach because it combines the wind. Look at dover. 98 degrees. The humidity in dover is it would be high for florida and thats how bad it is down in that area. That is just amazing and that may get up close to 110 this afternoon, as the temperature continues to get up. The only stop would be a shower or thunderstorm. Its dry so far, but we do have some isolated showers in the forecast. This area could be affecting us by tomorrow. Were not talking about any widespread rain but just about anything would be helpful here. Were talking about mid90s with the temperatures and a little bit of a sea breeze this afternoon and then just some isolated showers breaking out. So most of the area really not getting rained on today and lets see what happens tomorrow. Were starting off the day pretty some isolated showers and thunderstorms. This is not one of those patterns where just because its hot and humid you get thunderstorms all over the place or severe thunderstorms out of that. So the heat is with us today. It is with us tomorrow and then it gets pushed down to the south. Not only the heat but the humidity. A huge drop in the humidity by wednesday and then it stays that way for thursday and friday and even saturday. So if we get past today and tomorrow weve got much much more comfortable air in and there will not be a longlasting heat wave here. We have dangerous heat today, though. Temperatures into the mid90s and it will feel like its between 100 and 105 and in dover delaware higher than that. Closer to 110 again. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms and most of us will not get rained on today. The heat wave becomes official tomorrow. 92 degrees and then the humidity goes down and the temperature is down and it stays comfortable all the way into the weekend. Just got to get through today and tomorrow. Clearing up medical misconceptions and doctors have to educate parents and Young Children about the use of antibiotics. The humidity. Thats pretty high considering the temperature making you feel like 90 degrees. So in places like las vegas or in phoenix, you get such low humidity that the feels like temperature is actually lower than the air temperature. It gives you a good feeling to compare different cities and different times of year and its 89 degrees right now in northeast philly. 87 in mount holly and dover and 88 degrees in orangetown. What about the beaches . That west wind is keeping it pretty hot at the beach and 88 degrees in beachhaven and 83 degrees in lewis. Youre not getting a whole lot of relief there and the feels like temperature in the 90s at the beaches and close to 90 in allentown and theres your relief and mount pocono 79 and dover, already close to 100 degrees because the humidity is just so incredibly high there. Its dry so far during the day today. We could have some isolated storms build up a little bit and impressive disturbance to the west and each that is not much. Were not going to be getting a lot of relief in the form of showers and thunderstorms. Look at this by 4 00 2 00 theres virtually nothing on the radar. By 4 00 just isolated showers and mainly from philly southward and so if you get rain going this afternoon youll be one of the few lucky ones because a lot of us will be looking for some relief in any way and then everything dies out as the sun goes down tonight and then tomorrow, well we may start off pretty warm. This is up near 80 degrees at 6 00 a. M. And quickly getting up close to 90 but you dont see a whole lot in the way of rain here. You do see temperatures in the 90s and you see a sea breeze keeping the shore cooler tomorrow. So you will be getting some relief there, but thats not a real impressive looking at the future radar. The heat though thats with us today and tomorrow and then it gets pushed down to the south and it stays down to the south for the rest of the week. It is going to be pretty comfortable for quite a while here once we get rid of this heat. Mid09s today with just isolated afternoon thunderstorms, and not necessarily severe but you could get a real downpour with one of them. Tomorrows 90plus would make it an official heat wave and again, just isolated thunderstorms and then wednesday, the big change comes, lower humidity and 87 degrees and much lower humidity than what weve seen the last couple of days and that low humidity lasts for the rest of the week and even into next weekend.
