Reporter weve been touring the area in new castle trying to show you some of the damage out here. Were on one of the lesser hit streets. This is ryan avenue. Well see you a contrast. There are pieces of trees, leaves that are on the ground just down the street you can see pieces of siding that was torn off of homes and its just laying on the power loans out here. This entire block has no power right now. Walk with me here. Ill show you just across the street, this is new castle avenue. This entire road is shut down for about a half mile. You can see why. They have Delmarva Power crews trying to restore the lines that were knocked down as a result of the storm. Power poles were snapped trees down deldot and Delmarva Power have been on scene for several hours. New castle avenue shut down between rogers and lansing. This is what theyre dealing with right now. You had power poles snapped in half and broken and large trees down. We have power poles and transformers down throughout this Mobile Home Park and also on the road. We have more power out and Industrial Buildings that received substantial wall collapses and roofs torn off. Reporter theres also Video Evidence of a funnel cloud that was reported between 7 30 and 8 00 last night. About 50 families in a Mobile Home Park just about a half block from where we are right now, they have been displaced. Im told about 3,700 customers have no power right now. Theres six participants and a trailer that were damaged by a transformer falling into it. A shelter is set up at a high school not far from here. No injuries except for a person that was evaluated for a minor cut. All this damage, no one hurt. Thats got news out here. There are hundreds of people without power in New Castle County, just under 2,000 people without electricity. Around 1,700 in Burlington County and in philadelphia peco says its working to restore power to about 700 customers. Count on nbc 10 to stay on top of the storm recovery. This supporter lives in wisconsin and many like her communicate over social media. Supporters pulled out a final stop, they reached out to the stays Historic Society and hope later this morning, a final yes vote from those members will save it. Investigators believe a fire early sunday morning at this rental home was sparked by a dehumidifier that was placed in a corner next to a sofa.
