WBAL's Robert Lang won for Best Anchor, and Outstanding In-Depth Reporting.
WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 received four first-place awards Saturday night from the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association (CAPBA).
WBAL-TV 11 received two first-place awards.
The awards were presented in a virtual ceremony, and the stations were recognized the best among radio and television stations in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, that subscribe to the Associated Press (AP).
Entries were judged by broadcast professionals from AP subscribing stations from around the country.
The station was recognized for Outstanding Spot News, Metro Radio, for coverage of the deadly gas explosion on Labyrinth Road in Northwest Baltimore. The explosion occurred Aug. 10. Two people died in the explosion.
