The School District of Philadelphia's Board of Education on Tuesday voted to require the district's 19,000 employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Employees can request exemptions for "certain documented medical circumstances or sincerely held religious beliefs." Superintendent William Hite said the district will begin negotiating with its five unions to develop "meaningful consequences" for employees who do not comply with the mandate.
