ANN ARBOR, MI - With more teachers and school staff expecting to return to the classroom soon, the Washtenaw County Health Department is getting assistance from health care providers to meet the demand for COVID-19 vaccinations.
While progress toward getting Washtenaw County’s teachers and school staff vaccinated has been slow due to limited supply, there are signs of progress, with the health department working with Michigan Medicine and IHA to vaccinate approximately 1,200 elementary school educators on Saturday, Feb 27.
All of those doses are allocated by the county health department, Spokeswoman Susan Ringler-Cerniglia said, with Michigan Medicine and IHA providing staff to help administer the COVID-19 vaccine during clinics at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center, Michigan Stadium and IHA.
