The resume Charles "Randy" Boggs provided to the Overdale Chiefs Football League when he applied to be the chairman states he believes every child should have an opportunity to play sports regardless of finances.But a warrant now issued for his arrest claims he stole thousands of dollars from those very same kids."You really don't know what to say, I can always hear these kinds of things could happen," said Amanda Serafin, the chairman and president of the Greater Bullitt County Youth Football League.Twelve organizations including Overdale are part of the league. Serafin says red flags were raised when an audit was done back in March."We've discovered some ATM withdrawals and some questionable charges at different places wherein the off-season you don't spend a lot of money," she told WLKY.Serafin says money was spent on everything but the kids. Purchases from Lowe's and Dick's Sporting Goods, to local grocery stores. That's when they went to the Hillview police."I will feel much better when he is arrested and behind bars," said Serafin.The warrant claims Boggs withdrew $6,500 in February alone, but Serafin believes he swiped more than $8,000 total."With everyone being a volunteer, you have to put a lot of trust into people, but it was kind of surreal, it's unbelievable honestly," she said.This money is raised throughout the year. It's meant to pay for refurbished equipment and the cheer and dance teams."They don't just cheer games; they're going to competitions in Florida and Texas and different places so that money was also paying for travel and registration fees," she said.Boggs was let go from his position in March, after being voted in just two months earlier. Serafin says parents are frustrated, rightfully so she said, that something like this can happen but she wants people to have trust in this program."We promise we're doing everything we can – justice will be served; we're not letting this slide," Serafin said.WLKY tried multiple times to contact Boggs for his side of the story without response.The league has raised more than $6,000 in donations to cover the loss.
