A warrant has been issued for a suspect in connection with the shooting that took place on Grand Avenue last weekend, resulting in the death of Gregory D. Tucker. 33-year-old Asheem Monte Afutu had a warrant for his arrest issued Wednesday. Afutu is facing charges including murder, and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 2100 block of Grand Avenue early Sunday morning in the empty lot between 2051 and 2085 Grand. Officers responding were advised of a male subject arriving at OSF St. Mary's Hospital by private vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The male, later identified as Gregory Tucker was Life Flighted to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria where he later succumbed to his injuries.
